About our Client - Our client is a French Multinational specializing in the manufacturing of Industrial Gases. Their global foot print spreads across 80 countries with revenues exceeding USD 15 billion. In line with their expansion in India and they are looking forward to hire a Manager- Indirect Tax for their pan India operations.
Job Description - Reporting directly to the CFO, your responsibilities will include:
- The tax manager will work closely to support and direct the finance and operations teams I tax matters
- The tax manager will be responsible for all India based tax matters.
- The tax manager will be responsible for the final decision on India tax matters in consultation with the CFO.
- The tax manager will be also responsible for managing the global tax matters of the company.
- The tax manager will manage the relationship with all tax consultants for the erstwhile merged entities.
- The tax manager will be responsible for learning the business of the company and what it does, and the financial processes it uses, to better leverage the use of outside tax consultants.
- The tax manager will be required to prepare work papers, tax returns, and review tax returns and other tax filings. He will participate in planning, developing and implementing indirect tax (VAT) and Customer duty etc, Strategies to minimize taxes.
- Assisting with business development initiatives, contributing to winning new work form tax perspective. Helping manage the indirect tax consequences of global restructuring, mergers and acquisitions.
- Benchmarking against industry preferred practice to identify new ways of helping to reduce indirect tax costs and capturing permanent cash flow benefits.
- Contributing to customer service teams, helping ensure they function smoothly and effectively. Deal with all registration, deregistration and grouping requests received from clients or referred from external parties.
- Assisting with the developing less experienced staff with hands on advice and support.
The Successful Candidate - You are a qualified Chartered Accountant with at least 7 years of experience. You should have prior experience of handling Pan India operations. You should have experience in a manufacturing concern for at least 5 years. Experience in an MNC is preferred. A CS degree would be advantageous. The candidate should have experience in appearing/representing matters before tax and regulatory authorities. Ensure effective and timely turn around to the tax and regulatory authorities on the ongoing tax issues in coordination with various internal teams and with need based support from external consultants
