Description for Candidates:
Role Summary/Purpose:
- Manager- Indirect Tax will be primarily responsible for indirect tax compliance (viz. tax payments, filings etc.), compilation of data for audits, assessments, disputes/ litigations, tax reconciliations etc. He will be reporting to VP - indirect tax and will be working closely with finance controllership.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Ownership of tax related balance sheet accounts and related reconciliations. Responsible for indirect tax compliance (primarily related to GST) which broadly includes the following:
- Coordination with various functions for input data
- Analysis of the data and obtaining clarification from stakeholders as required
- Preparation of GST output liability computation
- Income/ Expense to tax and GL Reconciliations
- Review and payment of taxes
- Preparation of periodic GST returns backed up with requisite data, reconciliation
- Supervision of process of preparation of monthly Cenvat credit register (ensuring compliance to eligibility criteria set in Cenvat Credit Rules) and related coordination work such as arranging data, invoices, agreements, payment dates etc.
- Coordination with users for queries relating to Cenvat credit and educating them on importance of invoicing related aspects for availment of Cenvat credit
- Coordination with various function for compilation of data required for GST audit, Service tax audit, tax litigations and notices
- First point contact for tax advice to internal customers on various matters such as analysis of tax implications on new initiatives of marketing, sourcing / logistics, financial planning and analysis etc.
- Monitoring vendor management viz. vendor enrollment and payment of bills etc.
- Detailed review and analysis of tax triggers in IT systems
- Analysis of GST implications on projects, new products etc. and its implementation in IT and B2P systems.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Candidate must be Chartered Accountant (CA) with a minimum of 3 years of post qualification experience in GST with consulting/ multinational company (preferably in financial sector) and in ERP environment.
- Candidate possessing fair knowledge of IT systems used in financial sector business (Oracle, Vision PLUS etc.) will be preferred.
- Ability to work effectively with cross functional teams and within prescribed time constraints.
- Highly process orientated with intense desire to ensure no process gaps.
