1. To lead the development of appropriate HR Policies across the Institute
- Assess current and future policy requirements to support strategic aims in conjunction with the Institute's senior management
- Research best practice to enable best design of Institute policies
- Manage the implementation and review of HR policies
- Impact assess the equality and diversity impact of all HR policies
2. Provide strategic oversight and direction to Institute Remuneration policy and practices
3. Develop appropriate employment conditions and support to Institute staff especially focusing on expatriate staff members
4. Monitor employment statute developments, assess the impact on the Institute and develop policies to maintain legal compliance
5. Provide direction on staff engagement so that the Institute regularly measures and responds to staff feedback to improve the Institute as a best place to work
6. Play a central role, in conjunction with the Chief Human Resource Officer in forward planning and strategy development for the Institute as a whole.
7. Provide oversight of the Institute's approach to job evaluation to maintain consistency and fairness and assess appropriate methodologies for implementation
8. Provide guidance on the interpretation and application of HR policies and procedures within HR and across the Institute
9. Critically assess and develop policies in line with internal and external influences, particularly taking account of the international perspective
10. Develop a co-ordinated and consistent approach to the way in which the Institute engages with all staff directly and indirectly
11. Lead development of policies, which promote equality & diversity across the Institute
12. Benchmark and modernise terms and conditions, remuneration and benefits
13. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required
