HR Operations Manager, Mumbai


Position : HR Operations Manager

Location : Mumbai, India

Job Description :

- As the HR Operations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the entire HR function, ensuring efficient and effective HR processes and operations.

- You will be responsible for strategic HR initiatives, setting up and optimizing HR processes, and managing the employee life cycle from recruitment through separation.

Critical Role and Responsibilities :

Strategic HR :

Facilitate Management in Critical Decision-Making :


- Support senior management by providing strategic HR insights and data-driven recommendations to aid in critical decision-making processes.

Collation of MIS / Reports for Decision-Making :


- Compile and analyze Management Information System (MIS) reports and other key metrics to support strategic decisions and operational improvements.

Undertake Strategic Initiatives for Resource Optimization :


- Lead initiatives such as Human Capital Evaluation exercises and competency mapping to optimize resource allocation and enhance workforce effectiveness.

HR Process Setup :

Define & Implement HR Policies :


- Develop, implement, and periodically review HR policies and procedures to ensure they align with organizational goals and legal requirements.

Define Organization Structure & Hierarchy :


- Establish and define the organizational structure and hierarchy to support business operations and growth.

Design Templates :


- Create and standardize HR templates for various processes including recruitment, performance management, and employee documentation.

Set Up Processes :


- Design and implement effective HR processes and workflows to streamline HR operations and improve efficiency.

HR Operations Management (Employee Life Cycle Management) :

Manpower Planning & Budgeting :


- Conduct workforce planning and budgeting to ensure alignment with organizational needs and financial constraints.

Recruitments :


- Oversee the recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interviewing, and selection, ensuring a seamless and effective hiring process.

Onboarding & Induction :


- Manage the onboarding and induction processes to ensure new hires are integrated smoothly into the organization and provided with the necessary tools and information.

Personal File Management :


- Maintain accurate and confidential personal files and records for all employees, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

Employee Engagement :


- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction, fostering a positive work environment.

Training & Development :


- Identify training needs, coordinate and facilitate employee development programs to support career growth and skill enhancement.

Confirmation & Probation :


- Manage the probation and confirmation processes, including performance evaluations and feedback.

Employee Recognition & Rewards :


- Implement and manage employee recognition and rewards programs to acknowledge and incentivize high performance and achievements.

Performance Appraisal / Management :


- Oversee the performance appraisal process, including setting performance goals, conducting evaluations, and providing feedback.

Facilitate Payroll Processing :


- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including salary administration, benefits management, and compliance with statutory requirements.

Employee Grievance Handling :


- Address and resolve employee grievances and concerns in a fair and timely manner to maintain a positive and compliant work environment.

Exit & Separation :


- Manage the exit and separation process, including conducting exit interviews, processing resignations, and ensuring a smooth transition.

MIS & Reporting :


- Generate and analyze HR reports and metrics to provide insights into HR operations and support data-driven decision-making.

Educational Background :


- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

- A Master's degree or relevant HR certification (SHRM, CIPD) is preferred.

Experience :


- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in HR operations, with a strong track record in managing various HR functions and processes.

Technical Skills :


- Proficiency in HRIS systems, MS Office Suite, and other HR-related software.

- Experience with payroll processing and compliance is essential.

Analytical Skills :


- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret HR metrics and reports effectively.

Communication Skills :


- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization.


Organizational Skills :


- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities to manage various HR functions and priorities efficiently.

Interpersonal Skills :


- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with employees and management, fostering a collaborative work environment.
