Job Description - Its a lead position to handle govt relations and public policy for a fast growing org in India

Client Details :

Our client is one of the fastest growing start-ups in the consumer space set out to achieve record growth in the coming years. They are looking out for specific talent for their organisation to be able to take the next step in the right direction. In this context, they are looking to hire a Lead - Govt Relations and Public Policy to set up the team internally and build the practice further.

Description :

The incumbent would report into the Founder/CEO of the organization and be resposible for the following:

- Build and establish relationships with government authorities and policymakers across Central and State governments in India

- Assist Supply Chain Lead to diversify existing value chain to India

- Provide operational support to all legislative processes and ensure compliance to public policies and objectives

- Establish and maintain relationships with the government, embassies, and representation in industry associations and chambers of commerce

- Research, Analyse and Comply with regulations at central and state levels related to the business

- Proactively identify emerging and significant policy issues, represent and advocate the company's policy positions on issues of importance to the business in India

- Plan, design, and deliver corporate reputation objectives like Corporate Social Responsibility for a wider brand visibility and creating an impact on society

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an open environment, alongside teams including Legal, PR, Product and business teams

Profile :

The successful candidate should have/be:

- At least 8 years in a relevant position with policies or regulatory areas, government agencies, or consultancy services that serve equivalent clients

- Masters/bachelor's degree in public policy, Law or equivalent practical experience

- Ability to prepare compelling presentations and reports; attention to detail across analytical and writing skills is vital

- A deep understanding of the Indian political system, environment, and institutions, as well as the cultural landscape

- A good listener with strong analytical and problem-solving approach

- Strong understanding of the policy-making environment

- Proficient in English and Hindi
