Manager (Global Compensation - Manufacturing)

The Manager, Global Compensation is responsible for the development, delivery and evaluation of policy and programs in the areas of global compensation which includes compensation and benefits, payroll and HR systems management, as well as organizational design and job classification for employees.

The incumbent is a full member of the Division's management team and participates in key strategic and operational discussions and decisions on human resources issues, priorities, systems, processes, performance indicators and budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

- Participate as a member of the Human Resources management team in the development of the Division's policies, guidelines, standards, and strategies to guide senior management at Head Office and in the regions in conducting human resources activities.

- Work with the HR HEAD to develop objectives, set priorities and plans for the Division and contribute to corporate HR monitoring and reporting.

- Provide corporate HR leadership with regards to strategy, policy, design, development, implementation and continuous improvement of the areas related to the mandate of the work unit, ensuring that the frameworks, policies and practices align with and support the achievement of IDRC's strategic objectives and business plans including HR's implementation plan.

- Provide strategic advice to senior management on various HR management disciplines related to the mandate of the work unit.

- Responsible for designated formal HR authorities in the organization as determined in the HR authority matrix.

- Responsible for the execution of the HR Implementation Plan which may include leading certain related work unit projects under this plan.

- Maintain a close relationship with the Controller, Regional Operations to be kept up to date on any changes on local labour laws that could impact on working conditions of locally engaged staff in the regions where Organization is present. Analyze these changes and make recommendations on their implementation.

- Ensure the production of Monthly pay is accurate and made on time by approving the delivery of the pay for hired staff employees and approve delivery of monthly and annual pay reports.

- Approve the Monthly payroll by validating pay register with salary controls and audit reports.

- Ensure the payroll and human resources information system is functional at all times, recommend areas for development, manage configuration of the system to ensure optimization of its operations and oversee implementation of new modules.

- In cooperation with the HR Business Solutions team, manage the development, testing and implementation of automated processes (workflows) and reports aiming at improving efficiency of HR processes, monitoring and reporting obligations.

- Monitor and assess the payroll, ensuring that adequate processes, practices and quality controls are in place and taking corrective measures to ensure the correct, timely payment of employees while protecting Co's financial interests.

Qualification And Experience:

1. MBA in HR with Experience in Global Compensation/Reward with a Manufacturing Organization.

2. Experience working across several different geographics is essential.

3. The ability to drive analysis with limited guidance is essential for this role.

4. Excellent written and verbal communications skills are essential.

5. Advance skills in Ms Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Word are required for this role.

6. A self- motivated and problem-solving individual with ability to take initiative and accept suggestions for improvement.

7. The ability to develop approaches to tasks, create and implement processes, and develop frameworks for organizing work and evaluating idea is essential.

8. The ability to structure, plan and prioritize work and projects effectively is essential.

9. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required for this role.
