The Role:

- As a communications manager you will be a part of the global communications team working closely with the internal teams as well as external stakeholders. The Communications Manager will report to the Comms director and will support managing and implementing the overall communications strategy and plan for organization in line with organizational objectives. The role will involve increasing engagement with key audiences through effective storytelling, content strategy, and the production of publications, which is critical, along with building the organization's customer and stakeholder relationships. This position will also manage social media and website content on a day-to-day basis

- The candidate will ideally have an excellent track record in communications strategy, management and implementation, highly developed copy writing skills and creative flair, experience, and expertise.

Key Accountabilities:

- Support development and execution of communication Strategies:

- Responsible for executing organization's communication strategies and plans

- Support the team in development of communications strategy and social media strategy

- Manage Social Media Accounts and Content Development and Delivery

- Oversee organization's social media accounts, develop and produce high-quality content, work to increase reach and engagement, and support the design and launch of social media campaigns.

- Content Creation and Commissioning

- Write and/or commission content for media and communications materials for organization-owned as well as external platforms. Develop and champion organization's storytelling approach, driving improvements in the processes required to capture engaging stories.

- Website management

- Oversee the management and uploading of content and articles to the organization website, ensuring all materials align with the brand's guidelines and standards. Regularly re-visiting for improvements and additional features to keep the Website live and fresh with latest organizational updates. Work with agencies to re-design the website as per the requirements.

- Performance Monitoring and Reporting

Track the performance of communications activities, including social media and external media reach. Create reports on the performance of communications efforts using monitoring tools such as Google Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, and other tracking tools to measure effectiveness.

- Brand Consistency and External Communications

- Ensure Brand Consistency: Ensure all external communications, including publications, media, marketing materials, merchandise, and online content, align with CottonConnect's verbal and brand guidelines.

- Quality Assurance: Contribute to the quality assurance of all customer documents and communications.

- Supporting Participation in Events and Conferences:

Support in coordination, event planning, follow ups, speaker notes, managing successful event participation and delivery case by case basis.

Key skills required:

- Communication - You will need to ensure that all communication outputs of organization are of high quality, meet global standards and align with organization's brand strategy and principles. You will need to understand communications-related requirements of the organization as well as communications and messaging needs of the target audience.

- Content planning and creation - you will need to coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to plan and create content and will suggest the team on content placement to optimize reach and traction.

- Copywriting and editing - You will be required to create and/or edit excellent content for various channels which will include print, digital, and social media. You must create produce error-free content and have attention-to-details.

- Creativity - You will need to design and execute innovative campaigns for social media and events. You will design and develop compelling reports, factsheets, presentations, and communications outputs that are engaging and visually attractive.

- Social media- You will need to have strong understanding of social media and increase organization's social media reach.

- Strategic and Research driven - You will play a key role in development and execution of communication strategy and plan. You should be able to use research to inform the strategies as well as outputs.

Experience / Qualifications:

Experience:

- 5-8 years of experience in a communications role

- Experience and ability to successfully manage and implement a communications strategy in alignment with organizational strategic goals

- Exceptional copywriting, editing, written and verbal communications skills

- Experience in using different forms of media (such as email, websites, social media, and physical publications) to deliver high-quality information to different audiences

- Experience in creating content for various platforms

- Highly organized with an ability to meet deadlines and manage many competing priorities and stakeholder requirements

- Professional who stays abreast of industry trends and applies this knowledge to achieve constant improvement

- Experience in overseeing social media and website content

- Ability to collaborate with teams in various geographies

- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others.

- Experience in working and managing external agencies and consultants

Desired Experience:

- Experience in MNCs or International Development: Previous work experience in communication and/or marketing roles within multinational corporations (MNCs) or in an international development context, or similar complex global environments.

- Knowledge of Sustainability in fashion, Sustainable Agriculture, Supply Chains, Social Initiatives and Climate Change: Prior experience and understanding of these topics and aligned interest would be good to have.

- Proficiency in Software Tools: Familiarity with software tools such as Adobe InDesign, Canva, Google Analytics, and other relevant platforms for content creation, design, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications - Educated to master's degree level
