Global Shared Service Center - Finance Function

Education and/or Experience:

- CA / CWA with 10-12 years of accounting experience.

- Enterprise software experience required, preferably Oracle experience.

- The GL Manager is responsible for execution of the core accounting and processing areas of general accounting /Revenue Accounting / BS Reconciliations / Month end activities and support US Finance process from Hyderabad Shared Services Center group including team management.


- The team will support approximately nineteen company sites presently with plans for expansion.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Responsible for managing the GL team ensuring performance is in accordance with the Shared Service Center's Service Agreement and maintaining and measuring performance against certain KPIs. The position is the primary point of contact for Shared Services Center customers (i.e., Company locations).

- Manage posting of financial transactions, and ensure equal distribution of workload across all General Ledger team members

- Perform individual task as part of process or assignments through onshore team

- Deal with specific internal customers, site issues as required

- Promote culture of continuous process improvement

- Hire and train new staff members as necessary. Identify training needs and arrange for training, re-training, and cross-training to implement corrective action as required

- Resolve all escalated queries and disputes with appropriate stakeholders and to drive individual GL processes such as posting of journal entries, BS reconciliations, management of fixed assets administration, and Revenue Accounting

- Perform quarterly and year end staff evaluations

- Innovate to optimize production and constantly improve Production, Quality, and Turnaround Time

- Participate in and contribute to business conference calls, management meetings, and department meetings

- Assess and forecast staffing requirements based on business communication and incoming volume, maintain a cost-effective and stable workforce to absorb volume volatility

- Ensure deadlines are met in accordance with company's policies and procedures.

Process-Specific Responsibilities:

- General administrative duties for the GL and revenue accounting teams.

- Review and maintain all balance sheet account reconciliations, including, but not limited to, revenue accounts, prepaid expenses, accounts receivable, fixed assets, accrued expenses, and other current assets and liabilities.

- Knowledge and basic understanding of US GAAP.

- Performing analysis and reviewing monthly journal entries.

- Ensure journal entries are recorded to accurately reflect appropriate accrual basis accounting transactions for assigned functions in the correct period including accruals of expenses, accruals of revenue, amortization of prepaid expenses, etc.

- Support Month end close activities including review of journals and working on close tasks

- Support audit requests for information. Audits represent external, tax and various government agencies or customers.

- Support the general accounting element of strategic business initiatives and transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and the related due diligence and integration activities, as needed.

- Provide support for special projects on an as needed basis.

- Ability to identify and post correction entries to fix the account balances.

- Well-versed with Reconciliation policy around balance sheet accounts and classifications (Timing issues, required adjustments, unidentified differences etc.,)
