We are hiring for one of the Big 4's for Manager-General Ledger.
Job purpose
- The incumbent is responsible for leading the General Ledger team & monitor day to day processing of journal entries, fixed assets and reconciliations.
Your client responsibilities
- Understand business requirements & convert them into actionable steps on behalf of clients.
- Being a trusted business advisor to clients and exchanging opinions on matters requiring attention
- Responsible for meeting agreed Service Level Agreements (SLA) on Turn Around Time (TAT) & accuracy
- Ensure to complete the daily, weekly & monthly check list
- Create, maintain and update the control list
- Develop back up plan and focus on cross training the team
- Responsible for setting targets to the team
- Ensure to provide regular reports to leadership team
- Identify and implement process improvement ideas
- Managing client relationship with appropriate communication, regular customer interaction and updates as per required protocols
- Escalation management
- Audit and Internal control compliance
- Develop new services as a result moving up in the value chain
- Drive process improvement ideas and focus on standardization across the finance teams
Your people responsibilities
As a manager you will:
- Counsel and mentor team leaders and supervisors
- Manage, develop and implement the aspects of quality compliance and accuracy attributes
- Review the existing quality processes and procedures and provide suggestions for improvement in business processes for efficient functioning
- Manage the department and ensure that the team consistently delivers quality results
- Confer with clients to discuss and resolve matters such as complaints and implementation problems
- Interact with customers and clients to address concerns, and discuss them with senior leadership
- Carry out appraisals and be responsible for mentoring of subordinates
- Plan timely training for respective departments to maintain and improve skills of team members
- Work with supervisors to understand the team's concerns and resolve them
- Manage attrition to keep it to the minimum
- Delegate tasks appropriately and develop Supervisors and others to move to next level
- Plan, organize and direct transition activities
- Manage and ensure effective transition of process by scheduling project inputs, assigning resources and responsibilities
- Manage performance through training, coaching and regular feedback
- Responsible for setting targets to the team
- Work under pressure, managing absenteeism, attrition and people issues
- Handle internal escalation as well as escalation from other teams in Global Shared Services regarding people issues or client issues
- Identify the training gaps and coach team members - Process as well as Soft skills
- Conduct one on one meeting with each team member at regular intervals
- Ensure the career development plan for each team member is adhered - Mandatory and development training requirements are to be met
- Handle team issues such as leave & attendance management
- Have to ensure that the retention, internal transfers and attrition are managed as per goals set by the organization
- Manage the Utilization, effective utilization, productivity and efficiency
- Encourage and ensure there is fun at work and social responsibility
