The Role:
A General Ledger (GL) Accounting Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing an organization's financial accounting processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency. This role is essential for maintaining the financial integrity of an organization, requiring a blend of technical accounting expertise, leadership abilities, and strategic insight.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee General Ledger Operations: Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries, to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, budgets, and forecasts, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure adherence to accounting principles, standards, and regulatory requirements, maintaining the integrity of financial records.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering professional development and ensuring efficient workflow within the accounting department.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenditures, and implement cost-control measures to maintain financial health.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring preparedness and facilitating the audit process to maintain compliance and transparency.
Skills Required:
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger functions and financial reporting. Must have working exposure to onshore geographies.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, for financial analysis and reporting.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze complex financial data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to support business decisions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members, management, and external parties.
- Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial record-keeping and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Qualification: Qualified Accountant - CA/ICWA
- Experience: Minimum 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger functions and financial reporting.
