Manager - Finance Operations in a leading Bank - Gurgaon
Job Description :
- Preparation and consolidation of financial / non-financial management information for a highly complex set of insurance businesses.
- Preparation of commentaries
- Preparation of balance sheet and P&L Schedules
- Produce and analyse ad hoc management information to exacting timescales for executive management across HK Insurance
- Analytical review : Ensure that all material variances have been identified and explained in business terms
- Preparation & consolidation for Annual Reports & accounts
- Ensure the data is timely and accurate, and reconciles to the financial accounts.
- Ensure compliance with standards and Statutory requirements
- Has strong technical understanding of accounting principles and demonstrated competence in their application
- Has strong knowledge of insurance / pension products
Skill sets :
- Experience of working with Insurance Business with good track record / leading MNC/ corporate / Insurance organizations.
People skills :
- Ability and experience of managing small teams
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
Analytical review / problem solving skills :
- Ability to interpret data to be presented to manager and possess strong lateral thinking / analytical review skills
- Good judgement and reasoning skills
- Good time management and problem solving skills
- Able to analyze forecast and actuals trends and accurately evaluate their impact with business commentaries
- Detailed conscious oriented
- Ability to do secondary reviews and understand queries raised by business and resolve them in a timely manner
Accounting skills :
- In-depth functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads
- Experience in consolidation of financial data, produce reports (external & MI)
- Good knowledge of insurance/pension products, relevant laws and regulations and their reporting cycles
- Familiar with operating system & strong PC skills
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as fair value accounting, goodwill impairment etc preferred
External relationship management skills :
- Able to make operational efficiency improvement suggestions
- Able to work effectively with different teams
- Ability and experience of managing customer relationships/ service delivery
- Experience of interfacing with external auditors preferred
MS office skills :
- Hands on Experience using MS Office applications
- Expert in Excel (especially Vlookup, Hlookup, etc.)
Experience and qualification :
Accounting / Finance Graduate / Semi qualified accountant : 10 years
Qualified Accountant (Chartered, ACCA or CIMA) : Min 7 years
