The Manager Fin Ops Accounting is responsible for smooth operations of Global accounting team at Bangalore, which includes closing the global books of accounts, posting of journal entries, preparing global general ledger account reconciliations,reporting and having reviews with leadership team.
This position will also be responsible for hiring, training, and employee development; managing workload and establishing priorities; ensuring existing policies and procedures are followed; managing annual performance targets and operating budget; creating and monitoring appropriate performance metrics. This position will also act as an escalation point in resolving errors and complex accounting issues with internal and external business partners.

Business Responsibilities :
- Leading and developing a team circa 10 analysts, staff accountants, team leads and managers across accounting processes.
- Managing the month end activities which include closing of sub ledgers, general ledger account reconciliations, reporting and balance sheet account analysis.
- Ensure proper review of account balances and highlight the issues appropriately.
- Ensure appropriate financial policies, procedures, and internal controls are in place, documented, and operating as intended.
- Manage departments response to internal and external audit requirements and will also ensure compliance with Sox requirements for all geographies/activities.
- Manage complex accounting issues and implement process controls.
- Drive process improvements required to enhance controls and quality of reconciliations and related processes.
- Build and monitor performance metrics, with principal focus on ensuring timely delivery of month end reports, reconciliations and other deliverables.
- Maintain monthly communications and metrics reporting with Director and VP level business partners in finance operations, central accounting and FOAA.
- Guide and coach the team to develop a continuous pipeline of leaders.
- This includes but is not restricted to setting goals, quarterly performance review of the team, providing feedback and improvement plans to the team, identifying training needs for the team members and adequately nominate them for such training's when available and other related activities
- Coach the team through solid reviews of the financial statements, balance sheet reviews and other financial reports.
- Ensure that the quality of work delivered by the team is consistent and areas of improvement are identified, plan is put in place and tracked to ensure that such plan is executed and implemented
- Backup planning, cross training, succession planning to be in place for all team members to ensure that there is consistent pipeline of talent available for team members so that new roles and growth of the company can be sustained through existing people.
- Actively participate in strategic initiatives and special projects when assigned or required.
- Lead cross functional systems and process improvement initiatives
Knowledge & Skills/ Business Acumen/ Education & Experience :
- CA, CPA or CWA, with 8+ or more years of post-qualification experience in Month end closing of Books of accounts / working on various Sub-ledgers / Accounting Knowledge / Balance sheet Reconciliation & Reporting activities
- Past experience in effectively managing groups of at least 10 analyst, team leads and managers.
- Strong accounting skills.

- A work ethic based on a strong desire to exceed expectations.
- Strong interpersonal skills including written and oral communication skills.
- Expertise in Six Sigma defect reduction techniques (DMAIC, etc.)(Preferred)
- Retail industry experience (Preferred)
- Experience using Oracle Financial Applications (Preferred)
