Job Title: Event Manager
Location: Bangalore

BACKGROUND
Make A Difference (MAD) is a platform that empowers youth to become change leaders who drive positive impact and create self-sustaining communities. We are committed to provide equal opportunities for all children and our vision is that some day every child can learn and pursue their passion.
MAD is based in Bangalore, India and operating in 23 cities across the country. Today it is one of India’s largest youth volunteer networks. 1800 volunteers participate in our projects and work with over 4000 children in 80 centres.
Our projects aim to provide a positive learning ecosystem for children in order for them to regain confidence and start believing in themselves. We currently run an English Teaching, Library, Career Awareness and Personality Development Program.
PURPOSE
- The Event Manager is responsible for the conception, planning and execution of all MAD fundraising events. He/She will identify opportunities and create partnerships for events and campaigns in order to mobilize resources for the MAD cause.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning
- Create framework for yearly calendar and lead the annual event planning for all cities in line with FOM’s overall fundraising strategies.
- Develop strategy for expansion into new cities, sectors and areas of operation within the vertical.
- In collaboration with CEO FOM develop a strategic long-term plan for the vertical and create systems and processes to implement it.
- Ensure alignment with other vertical heads to achieve the overall goals of FOM.
Event Management
- Conduct research to identify new opportunities for events at a national, regional and city level.
- Design innovative and creative concepts for MAD fundraising events and write proposals.
- In collaboration with Marketing Manager develop branding as well as marketing and communication strategy for each event.
- Organize two national events during the course of the year.
- Create framework for the planning and coordination of all logistical and technical aspects.
- Book location and organize all required facilities and materials before the event.
- Supervise, coordinate and direct all activities of event team to ensure successful execution of event.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Develop and implement an innovative and effective monitoring and evaluation system.
- Monitor and evaluate all events to ensure that quality standards are met.
- Create event evaluation reports, identify problems and suggest changes and improvements for future events.
Tie-ups and External Relations
- Build and maintain partnerships with schools, colleges, malls, cultural centres and corporates to conduct events.
- Negotiate agreements with partners to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service.
Finance
- In collaboration with Finance Manager agree on a budget for each event.
- Oversee cash-flow and document all expenses and incomes.
- Ensure that vertical meets its fundraising targets through the execution of events.
Recruitment and Mentoring
- Oversee and evaluate overall performance of Regional Event Managers.
- Assist in the hiring and induction of any new members of the Events team.
- Ensure an effective succession planning and career opportunities regional staff members and fellows.
- Plan and conduct regular trainings for Events team members.
Other duties as assigned
REPORTING STRUCTURE
- The Event Manager will report directly to the CEO FOM. He/She will oversee 3 regional Managers (part-time).
SALARY RANGE
Rs. 7 lacs to Rs. 8 lacs per annum (to be defined)
REQUIREMENTS
Education and Experience
- 1-2 years relevant working experience in event planning and execution.
