Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager - ESG Ratings to join our team and play a pivotal role in driving sustainability and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) assessments. The candidate will be responsible for handling ESG assignments, sustainability projects, and corporate disclosures across multiple sectors. This role requires expertise in benchmarking ESG parameters, evaluating sustainability risks, and enhancing ESG assessment frameworks to align with evolving industry standards.

The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of ESG reporting frameworks, and proficiency in sustainability disclosures. They should be well-versed in global ESG trends, sustainable finance, and impact assessment methodologies. This role also involves extensive stakeholder interaction, including working closely with corporates, rating agencies, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies.

In addition to conducting research and developing ESG risk models, the candidate will be expected to lead client presentations, provide training sessions, and contribute to thought leadership initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

ESG Research & Analysis:

- Conduct in-depth ESG assessments for various industries, analyzing sector-specific sustainability risks and opportunities.

- Evaluate non-financial disclosures of companies, ensuring alignment with global ESG reporting standards (GRI, SASB, TCFD, etc.).

- Develop proprietary ESG scoring models by incorporating industry benchmarks and risk assessment methodologies.

- Analyze corporate sustainability initiatives, identifying best practices and areas for improvement.

- Stay updated on regulatory developments and evolving sustainability trends, ensuring ESG frameworks remain relevant.

ESG Benchmarking & Framework Enhancement:

- Perform benchmarking exercises to compare ESG-related parameters across different sectors and corporates.

- Refine and enhance the ESG assessment framework by integrating emerging ESG risks, sector-specific challenges, and sustainability innovations.

- Develop methodologies for computing proxies, validating ESG data, and standardizing ESG performance indicators.

- Ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency in ESG ratings by continuously refining assessment models.

Sustainable Finance & Risk Management:

- Assess ESG risk factors impacting investments, corporate governance, and financial sustainability.

- Evaluate the role of ESG in credit risk assessments, capital allocation strategies, and impact investing.

- Conduct ESG materiality assessments to determine which sustainability issues are most relevant to stakeholders.

- Collaborate with financial institutions to integrate ESG risks into investment decision-making processes.

Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership:

- Engage with corporate clients, rating agencies, investors, regulatory bodies, and industry experts to drive ESG awareness.

- Deliver client presentations and sustainability briefings, ensuring market participants understand ESG rating methodologies.

- Conduct training sessions and workshops for internal teams, analysts, and external stakeholders on ESG assessments.

- Represent the company at industry conferences, webinars, and policy discussions, positioning the organization as a leader in ESG research.

- Gather feedback from market participants and contribute to whitepapers, reports, and industry publications on ESG trends.

ESG Data Analytics & Reporting:

- Work with large datasets, ESG databases, and sustainability reports to derive actionable insights.

- Utilize advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and other data analytics tools to generate ESG performance reports.

- Develop customized ESG reporting templates, ensuring consistency and compliance with global sustainability disclosure standards.

- Assist in preparing client-specific ESG risk reports, highlighting key environmental, social, and governance risks.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Project Management:

- Collaborate with internal teams, including analysts, financial researchers, and corporate strategists, to enhance ESG integration.

- Work under tight deadlines to deliver high-quality ESG ratings, reports, and consulting assignments.

- Coordinate with regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Indian and global sustainability regulations.

- Support business development initiatives by contributing to ESG proposals, client engagements, and strategic partnerships.

Qualifications & Experience Required:

- Educational Background: MBA (preferably in Sustainability) or a Master's degree in Finance, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.

- Work Experience: 2-8 years of experience in ESG consulting, sustainability reporting, ESG evaluation, or risk assessment.

Technical Expertise:

- Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks, non-financial reporting standards, and corporate sustainability disclosures.

- Experience in quantitative and qualitative ESG analysis, impact measurement, and ESG scoring models.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and sustainability analytics tools.

Soft Skills:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a logical approach to ESG assessment.

- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills to engage with senior management and external stakeholders.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple ESG projects simultaneously.
