Employee Relations has a leadership opening in India, based in Bangalore. The level will depend on the skills and experience of the candidate up to Director. The position reports to the India HR Head and has a dotted line reporting to the Global ER Head.
Job Function :
- This management role with be responsible for leading the entire Employee Relations function for India.
- Incumbent will be guiding HR Representatives, respective management and their business unit(s)/departments by providing consultation on various employee relations (ER) matters.
- The role requires the incumbent to conduct and lead complex ER cases, interpret policies and procedures, advise on fair and equitable employment practices, provide guidance in support of our culture and ensure that such policies/procedures comply with Qualcomm's work culture and Indian employment laws.
- The incumbent will be a culture champion who will guide the organization towards Qualcomm's positive and ethical work environment.
Skills/Experience :
- Minimum 15+ years of prior human resources experience including several years as a team manager, preferably in a high-tech environment. Experience must include a minimum 5 years of experience as an Employee Relations specialist.
- Exposure to Ethics & Compliance frameworks, investigations and initiatives.
- Must possess experience within a dynamic fast-paced organization.
- Must be a leader, self-starter, have the ability to multi-task, possess good communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution skills, and strong facilitation/influencing/ coaching skills.
Responsibilities :
- Lead Investigations : Manage delicate employee situations like policy violations, fraud or ethics concerns; oversee / conduct investigations leading to culturally relevant and legally defendable outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Low Performance Management : Design and deploy various initiatives and programs to address low performance and encourage optimal performance.
- Culture & Change Management : Acts as advisor in all aspects of ER to further Qualcomm's positive and ethical culture ensuring respect, dignity and ethical behavior. Regularly train employees and managers on diverse topics including Qualcomm's Code of Business Conduct; - The Qualcomm way-, thereby promoting and upholding Qualcomm's culture. Deliver various initiatives and programs in response to the dynamic and ever changing work environment.
- Ethics & Compliance : Active participate on the Ethics & Compliance Committee for India. Contribute to Qualcomm India ethics & compliance forum in partnership with key stakeholders in India and Corporate. Conduct department risk assessments and put in place mitigation plans to alleviate the risks.
- Policy : Regularly review and refresh Qualcomm policies & guidelines in line with external trends and employment laws; enhance awareness of Qualcomm policies & guidelines through various means.
- Organization Change Efforts : Lead acquisitions and / or reduction-in-force efforts in response to internal and / or external factors.
- Best Practices : Regularly review employment best practices and roll out initiatives that are of value to employees / managers / business.
- Employee Care & Concern : Facilitate a work environment that displays care and concerns for employees through various proactive and responsive measures to include managing the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provide training & learning opportunities for work, life, balance. Provides appropriate responses to various EOT challenges brought forward.
- Process & Productivity : Streamline existing processes or introduce new ones to improve productivity
- ER Metrics & Reporting : Publish periodic ER Reports indicating impact created
- Projects : May also lead / contribute to other ER projects based on business need and priorities.
Education Requirements Required : Master's degree in Human Resources or equivalent from a premier institution
