Job Description: Manager - Employee Relations

Location: Bidadi, Ramanagara Dist., Karnataka

Reporting to: Division Head, Employee Relations

Position Type: Permanent

Job Roles & Responsibilities:

Discipline Management:

- Manage instances of employee indiscipline proactively, ensuring timely escalation and resolution.

- Conduct thorough investigations into incidents, ensuring accuracy and adherence to protocols.

- Prepare legal documents such as advisories, warnings, and charge sheets in compliance with company policies.

- Coordinate and oversee disciplinary inquiries, ensuring the process follows due legal procedures.

- Drive initiatives to enhance employee awareness of the company's disciplinary policies and procedures.

- Utilize analytical skills to maintain and analyze the Management Information System (MIS) for reporting and decision-making.

Statutory Compliance:

- Stay abreast of updates in Labour Laws and ensure compliance across all operations.

- Oversee the full range of labour law compliance activities, including registrations, renewals, and returns at the national level.

- Conduct audits to ensure compliance of contractors with relevant statutory requirements.

Court Cases and Conciliation Matters:

- Work closely with legal experts to navigate complex labour-related legal matters and minimize legal risks.

- Manage and monitor court cases across various forums such as Session Court, Labour Court, High Court, and conciliation matters with external consultants.

- Maintain accurate records of ongoing legal proceedings and ensure timely follow-up.

Liaisoning with Government Officials:

- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government officials to facilitate compliance and regulatory adherence.

- Schedule and conduct regular meetings with government representatives to foster communication and resolve issues.

- Ensure a seamless exchange of information between management and government authorities to align with legal and regulatory standards.

Candidate Criteria:

Gender: Male

Qualifications: LLB (MSW preferred)

Languages: Proficiency in English, Kannada, and Hindi

Experience: Minimum 20-30 years of experience, with at least 5-7 years in a senior Employee Relations or Labour Relations role, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.

Industry Preference: Automotive, Manufacturing, or similar unionized sectors.

Key Competencies:

- Strong knowledge of Labour Laws, conflict resolution, and disciplinary management.

- Expertise in conducting investigations and managing disciplinary processes.

- Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as advisories, warnings, and charge sheets.

- Strong analytical and documentation management skills, with the ability to maintain and analyze the MIS.

- Excellent communication and networking abilities.

- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
