The Economic Advisory (EA) practice offers a suite of services that includes decision support, analytics, econometrics and operations research that assist clients in making strategic and tactical decisions. Incumbent will be applying economic theory and econometric tools to get to the root of client's problem, analyzing large and complex datasets and building predictive models to come up with robust and compelling solutions.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities of the role

- Managing & executing engagements related to Economics Advisory

- Building relationships within the firm's offices across the globe, demonstrating knowledge of regional practices business and developing open communication channels

Technical skills requirements

Suitable applicants will be highly numerate and analytical, Master-level Economics with knowledge of finance and business and having experience in applying economic theory and econometric tools, at times innovatively, to solve client problems.

For this role, desired skillsets are :

- Strong academic and professional background in Economics, Business or Industrial Economics and Econometrics

- Good understanding of macro and micro economics and exposure in applying these concepts for analytics and forecasting.

- Ability to synthesize relevant information from huge datasets and producing insights that are relevant as per the business needs

- Knowledge and application of core data science and advanced analytics methods, such as statistics, segmentation & clustering, predictive modelling, simulation, and optimization in varied scenarios depending on the project requirements

- Familiarity with a broad base of statistical and analytics tools as below and expertise in a few of them :

Tools like Eviews, SPSS etc

Analytics Platforms (R, SAS)

Data Management (Excel, SQL, Alteryx)

Data Visualization (Tableau, Spotfire)

Programming or scripting experience (Python,VBA)

Job requirements

- Proven experience of 7 years + in developing and growing practices to serve new markets or provide new offerings, including ability to hold strategic conversations with stakeholders in senior and decision-making positions

- People management experience of 3+ years, including recruiting, training, performance appraisals and overall team development

- Excellent analytical, communication, organizational, interpersonal and teaming skills

- Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary

KRAs :

- Stay abreast of current business and economic developments relevant to our as well as the client's business

- Manage a team of professionals and ensure that workflow is seamless and well managed with on time delivery of engagements /projects

- Identify issues and propose strategies related to the procedures executed

- Demonstrate teamwork and responsibility by engaging with team members

- Use current technology and tools to enhance the effectiveness of services provided

- Manage own time to budgets and communicate progress against plan to assignment manager

- Specific engagement responsibilities will include end to end project delivery starting from scoping a project and breaking it down to smaller tasks with timelines attached, to allocation to review and delivery .
