We are currently looking for an Manager - Direct Taxation for one of the Largest Business Conglomerates in India.

Job Title: Manager

Function: Direct Taxation

Reporting to: General Manager - Accounts

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Interpretation of the A/Cs prepared by the businesses for assessment of

- Direct Tax & VAT liability. Expert knowledge of Income Tax

- Time to time monitoring of the accounts as prepared by the businesses.

- Monitoring the accuracy of the tax liability estimated by the business and provision for advance taxes.

- Providing opinions on specific transactions that are either materially significant or fall outside the realm of the underlying departments.

- Coordination with the IT department relating to taxation matters. Constantly engaging with IT department to answer queries raised by them.

- Contesting and defending the claims raised by providing required cases / supporting evidence and justification for the tax treatment.

- Providing any other information as required by the IT department as the single point of contact for the department.

- Deciding the group policy on issues like transfer pricing and providing inputs on their interpretation on a case-to-case basis.

- Understanding the transfer pricing issues and state from time-to-time within the group.

- Ensuring that the team is updated with the latest norms and laws relating to transfer pricing.

- Recommending the best possible set of standards to follow for the group while ensuring compliance of the tax laws.

- Overseeing the filing of IT returns by the Direct Tax and VAT departments.

- Administer and monitor the returns filed by the direct tax and VAT departments.

- Ensure that there is sufficient support for the tax claims filed by the departments.

- Provide any other assistance required to the departments

Qualification & Experience requirement: a Chartered Accountant with 8 plus years experience in same field.

Additional Skills requirement :

- Knowledge of Oracle/SAP based ERP a plus.

- Advanced analytic, organization, and interpersonal skills.

- Advanced spreadsheet and modelling skills.

- Excellent collaboration, verbal and written communication skills.

- Able to break down problems into meaningful parts and come to rational and well-thought out conclusions. Demonstrated strong project management skills.
