Roles and responsibilities:
Manage and deliver business and securities valuations including intangible valuations for mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, purchase price allocations, impairment tests, fairness opinion, tax and regulatory compliance, restructuring and reorganization, disputes, financial instrument valuations, corporate services and management planning purposes
Prepare and present proposals and pitching documents, design the scope of work for engagements, oversee day-to-day activities, assume responsibility for quality control and accuracy of client deliverables, and effectively manage risk associated with engagements
Build, maintain, and enhance client relationships
Supervise, mentor and develop junior staff, providing timely and effective performance feedback and training
Assist in business development efforts and collaborate with other practices of the firm to build cross-functional relationships
Manage project financials, including budget, WIPS, timely billing and collection
Qualifications and Skills
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business from an accredited college/university
Professional qualification MBA in Finance, CFA, CA, ACCA, CVA, CPA or equivalent is preferred
Experience and Background
5-6 years of financial advisory and valuation experience within a business valuation firm or valuation practice of an audit, tax and advisory firm, preferably a Big 4
Significant experience with valuations of companies and intangible assets for diversified industries/sectors purchase price allocations, analyzing goodwill and long lived asset impairment, supporting a company's value for bidding or asking price plans, impairment test, litigation support, and financial analysis and research
Strong technical knowledge of valuation concepts, methodologies and techniques
Possess strong knowledge of financial accounting and be familiar with relevant financial standards (IFRS and IAS) relating to valuations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, proven analytical and financial modeling skills, the ability to work well in a team environment and a commitment to mentoring and developing staff
Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple valuation engagements and manage client relationships
Expertise in MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and MS Word
