Senior Data Management Consultant

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Management Consultant to join our team and lead data documentation and data flow initiatives within the banking sector. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data management, data governance, and a thorough understanding of banking operations. The Data Management Consultant will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance data documentation, ensure data quality, and optimize data flows across various banking projects.

Responsibilities:

Data Documentation:

- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to document and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries, data lineage, and metadata for banking projects.

- Ensure that data documentation complies with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.

Data Governance:

- Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures specific to banking projects.

- Work with business units to define and implement data ownership, data stewardship, and data quality management practices.

Data Flow Optimization:

- Analyze and optimize data flows within banking systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of data delivery.

- Collaborate with project teams to design and implement effective data integration and data migration strategies.

Data Quality Management:

- Develop and implement data quality frameworks to ensure the accuracy and integrity of data within banking projects.

- Establish data quality metrics, monitor performance, and implement corrective actions as needed.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Stay informed about relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements related to data management.

- Ensure that data management practices align with regulatory standards and support audit and compliance efforts.

Training and Support:

- Provide training and support to business and IT teams on data management best practices, tools, and methodologies.

- Foster a culture of data awareness and responsibility within the organization.

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and data architects to integrate data management activities seamlessly into banking projects.

- Participate in cross-functional teams to address data-related challenges and opportunities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., data management, information systems, finance).

- Proven experience in data management, data governance, and data documentation within the banking industry.

- Strong knowledge of banking operations, products, and systems.

- Familiarity with data management tools and technologies.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
