Manager, Credit Surveillance
Role Summary/Purpose :
- As a Manager Credit Surveillance, you will be responsible for the development and management of a centralized and balanced surveillance program, meeting both process control and regulatory requirements, focused on key risks to the organization.
- You will design and execute surveillance plans within the Credit & Capital Management Function.
- You will be responsible for gathering and analyzing the data and collaborating with process owners to resolve surveillance findings that are out of compliance with Critical to Compliance/Quality requirements. Process surveillance includes but is not limited to credit bureau reporting, ability to pay, military lending act, red flags,etc.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities :
- Research, design, implement, and independently execute surveillance test plans across the Credit & Capital Management function in a timely manner.
- Independently monitor and execute surveillance of Critical to Compliance processes across all platforms.
- Gather, analyze, track, and report potential gaps or issues to Functional Owners and Senior Leadership, including capturing a closed loop on gap closure efforts.
- Perform remediation on certain identified defects, and clearly communicate results to Leadership and other Stakeholders throughout the business.
- Must maintain complete and timely documentation of surveillance work and job aids within team sites and/or shared libraries.
- Support the development and management of centralized surveillance report outs.
- Assist management in prioritizing, assigning, and managing team projects and tasks.
- Summarize surveillance findings in EWR pages to be presented to the a cross-functional group of stakeholders, including process owners, Compliance, and Credit Senior Leadership.
- Work closely with cross functional teams, Compliance and Legal on all strategy remediations.
- Serve as primary point of surveillance contact for all 2nd and 3rd LoD testing and audit engagements.
- Responsible for providing Senior Leadership with timely status updates at regular intervals and communicating to all levels of the business.
- Able to mentor team members on platform, function, and work responsibilities.
Qualifications / Requirements :
- Bachelor's' degree in business, statistical or related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in financial services industry with extreme attention to detail, data integrity and team focus.
- Minimum 4 years of SAS programing & SQL experience.
- Proficiency in writing SAS code
- Experience in Automation using Excel VBA Macro & Extensive working knowledge on SAS macros.
- Hands on experience on data warehouse
- Demonstrated project management experience.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis & present findings.
- Strong analytical, risk management, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in matrix environment.
Desired Qualifications :
- Minimum 2+ years' experience in surveillance or monitoring functions.
- Minimum 2+ years' knowledge of risk platforms like FDR and Surveyor/GENASYS, etc.
- Good working knowledge of Regulation B, Equal Opportunity Act and Fair Credit Reporting Act.
- Working knowledge of workstation and IDP reporting.
- Knowledge of CDCI, Commercial, and PDR data warehouse.
- Previous experience managing a team of non-exempts or demonstrate ability to manage others.
- Ability to influence others to achieve team goals.
- Domain knowledge of credit card processing and underwriting.
- Demonstrate deep, up to date knowledge of regulatory compliance of the financial services sector to drive improvements.
