Purpose of the Role:
As a Credit Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for managing the leasing operations and ensure efficient execution of lease agreements. Incumbent will be responsible for assessing lease applications, negotiating terms and conditions, coordinating with clients, and monitoring lease portfolios.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lease Application Evaluation: Review lease applications, financial statements, and credit reports to assess the creditworthiness of potential lessees.
- Analyze risk factors and make informed decisions regarding lease approvals.
- Negotiation and Documentation: Negotiate lease terms, conditions, and pricing in accordance with company policies and market standards. Prepare and review lease agreements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements. Coordinate with legal teams when necessary.
- Client Relationship Management: Interact with clients, both individual lessees and businesses, to address inquiries, clarify terms, and provide assistance throughout the leasing process. Build and maintain strong relationships to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the status of lease agreements, including payments, renewals, and terminations. Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
- Proactively identify and address any issues that may arise during the lease tenure.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on leasing regulations, guidelines, and best practices.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to lease transactions, consumer protection, data privacy, and fair lending practices.
- Risk Management: Assess and manage potential risks associated with lease agreements.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies and controls to minimize losses and maintain a healthy lease portfolio.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as credit analysts, operations, collections, and legal departments to ensure smooth execution of lease transactions.
- Provide support and share expertise to assist in process improvements and resolve issues.
- Reporting and Analysis: Generate regular reports on lease portfolio performance, delinquencies, and key metrics. Analyze trends, identify areas for improvement, and recommend strategies to optimize leasing operations.
Education Qualification(s)
- MBA Finance or Marketing from reputed B-Schools.
- Any other degrees or certificates related to the job.
Functional Skills:
- 8 to 10 years with relevant industry exposure.
- Proven experience as a Lease Specialist or in a similar role within an NBFC or financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of leasing principles, practices, and regulations.
- Familiarity with accounting principles and financial analysis.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to analyze complex lease agreements and contracts.
- Proficient in using lease management software and MS Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Technical Skills:
- Understanding of Lending rates of competitors.
- Knowledge of CIBIL.
