- They are recognized for their innovative and large-scale industrial and logistics developments, catering to the country's ever-growing e-commerce, retail, and manufacturing sectors.
- We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Corporate Affairs Manager to join our client's dynamic team based in Mumbai.
- This role will be pivotal in managing the organization's corporate affairs with a focus on ensuring regulatory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and liaison with various government bodies, regulatory authorities, and industry associations.
- The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate governance, legal and regulatory frameworks, and public relations, particularly within the real estate, infrastructure, or industrial warehousing sectors.
Key Responsibilities:.
Corporate Governance & Compliance:.
- Oversee compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements, including adherence to the Companies Act, SEBI regulations, environmental norms, and other applicable legal frameworks.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory filings and documents with various authorities, including ROC, SEBI, and other relevant government bodies.
- Maintain and update corporate records, licenses, approvals, and filings in coordination with internal legal teams and external legal counsel.
Government Liaison & Stakeholder Management:.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the company and government authorities such as municipal - corporations, MIDC, industrial development boards, and SEZ authorities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders including government officials, industry bodies, trade associations, and regulatory authorities.
- Represent the company in external forums, policy discussions, and industry events to advance the organization's interests.
Risk Management & Legal Advisory:.
- Monitor regulatory changes and industry trends, assess their impact on the business, and advise senior management accordingly.
- Identify risks related to regulatory non-compliance and develop mitigation strategies.
- Provide advice on matters related to corporate law, industrial licensing, land acquisition policies, and other legal implications in industrial development.
Public Relations & External Communication:.
- Coordinate public relations efforts and manage communications with media, industry bodies, and other external stakeholders.
- Assist in crafting the company's external messaging, ensuring consistency with its corporate image and strategic goals.
- Draft press releases, official statements, and external communications relating to regulatory changes, business developments, or government relations.
Cross-functional Collaboration:.
- Work closely with the legal, finance, and business development teams to support the company's growth initiatives while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with the project management and operations teams to ensure smooth functioning of warehousing developments with respect to obtaining licenses, approvals, and government clearances.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:.
Education: Graduate/Postgraduate degree in Law (LLB/LLM), Public Policy, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:.
- 10-15 years of experience in corporate affairs, legal, or government relations, with at least 5 years in a managerial position, preferably in the real estate, infrastructure, or industrial warehousing sectors.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale, multi-stakeholder industrial or commercial projects, with a strong understanding of relevant regulations, licensing, and compliance processes.
Skills & Competencies:.
- Strong knowledge of corporate governance frameworks and the regulatory environment in India, particularly in real estate or infrastructure.
- Excellent relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships.
- High-level negotiation skills and ability to influence key external and internal stakeholders.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information clearly to a variety of stakeholders.
