Consumer Insights and Research Manager (Leadership Role), Amazon India (Video)

- At Amazon, data and analysis guide every business decision and deliver enormous business value. Amazon video's marketing team is seeking an experienced, technically skilled and customer-centric manager to lead consumer insights and research at Amazon Video India.

- This team represents the voice of the Indian customer by looking inwards at our data/metrics to come up with insights and outwards via customer research, CSAT surveys and awareness/brand studies. The team will own (1) data analysis and reports for senior leadership reviews; (2) ad hoc analysis and dive deep requests; and (3) the customer research agenda.

- The team will leverage the global CI team's help in building automated data models and reporting for IN; as well as leverage other Amazon research teams to avoid redundancies and increase research output. The team's output will be to create actionable feedback for other Amazon Video teams (content, product/engineering, etc).

- This team will support the video organization by defining and delivering programs and analysis, which drive business decisions and result in step function improvements for our customers. The right person will provide strategic technical leadership for the analysis that needs to be done, the architecture of our data, and the most effective recommendation.

- You will partner with business leaders and global customer insights teams to drive strategy and prioritize projects and feature sets, you will also write and review business cases, and drive the dataset development schedule from design to release.

- You will have responsibility of a Business/Data analyst. This is a critical position within the video team with high visibility to senior leaders.

- This role requires a leader motivated to develop better than best-in-class analytics and needs to have excellent analytical abilities as well as outstanding business acumen.

- The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail, an ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.

The role's responsibilities include :

- Building the foundation for weekly, monthly, and quarterly metric reports

- Leading efforts to qualify and quantify operational improvement opportunities

- Maintaining data integrity and troubleshooting issues

- Working with global and local CI teams to leverage best practices and databases

- Working with global and local research teams to leverage research efforts

- Working with the functional business leaders to build scalable processes and metrics

- Champion fundamental customer experience elements of our mobile products and services to ensure that the right voice and high-quality content are maintained.

- Demonstrate ability to work at the strategic and at the tactical level (analyzing data and solving problems).

- Proactively share and learn best practices for CI and research from other Amazon teams in India and across the world

- Stay abreast of new tools, trends, and best practices in analytics, CI and research.

- Communicate regularly with senior leadership, internal stakeholders and marketing team colleagues to understand objectives and opportunities.

Basic Qualifications :

- 7+ years Business Intelligence / consumer insights experience working with Data Warehouse solutions and large data sets

- Expert level data modelling and ETL skills, knowledge of industry best practices, and a deep understanding how data is extracted, transformed, scrubbed and loaded in a 200-plus-terabyte DW environment.

- You know and are excited by cutting edge technologies in business intelligence; your technical skills are rock solid and you drive towards simple solutions to complex problems. You are adept at solving problems that span business and technology.

- Experience working with Oracle, SQL databases

- Experience working with common business intelligence tools (Tableau, Microstrategy, Cognos, Essbase)

- Strong ability to interact, communicate, present and influence within multiple levels of the organization

- Prior successes in leading teams that have provided analytics support to global stakeholders

- Strategic thinker with ability to understand business strategy, provide consultative business analysis, and leverage technical skills to create insightful, effective BI solution

- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously to meet tight deadlines and drive projects to completion

- Strong drive for execution and delivering results. An ambitious self-starter with excellent follow-through skills to develop ideas independently and thrive in fast-paced environment is crucial.

- Demonstrated ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and execute to get the job done and thinking big at the same time

- Tenacity and sense of urgency; the ability to make things happen quickly with large, less nimble partners and/or teams.

- Relentless customer focus and obsession

- Master's degree in economics, statistics, engineering, or a similar quantitative field. Bachelor's degree with significant relevant experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Proven experience in BI/DW as a change leader providing strategic research, recommendations, and implementations

- Experience in the digital media (music, video) Industry preferred.

- Knowledge of digital video landscape, including solid understanding of digital video
