About the Position
A constituent of the UN body, large corporate philanthropy, a technical expert organization in nutrition and a CSR service platform have come together to curate a brand-agnostic platform to engage the private sector with PoshanAbhiyaan to make it a Jan Andolan. The platform serves as a catalyst for engaging businesses and CSR foundations to create awareness about the nutrition among their employees and communities in which they operate.
This platform works under the aegis of the above-mentioned flagship organizations with a central team comprising as the Secretariat Team. The platform aims to engage 300-400 companies in the next two years and thereby reach-out to thousands of employees for nutrition literacy and awareness.
The Communication Manager will be the focal person to handle the media advocacy, outreach, social media and internal and external communication for the platform. The role requires a dynamic and creative professional capable of communicating both simple and complex issues across a wide range of media.
Responsibilities ;
- Manage the day-to-day internal and external communications and promotional activities of the Secretariat
- Maintain a strong brand for the Secretariat, including impactful and fit-for-purpose publications, website, social media
- Co-ordinate media and public affair activities to promote Secretariat position across India
- Prepare press statements, case studies, and articles on issues for internal and external communications
- Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate, potential members, and other partners to advance the platform goals.
- Manage the publication and promotion of Secretariat materials, including design, printing and videos.
- Ensure that the Secretariat communication outputs are of a high standard, respond to the needs of the target audience, and are delivered within timelines
- Build on existing and develop new relationships with key decision makers, member organisations, media and others
- Provide line-management and support to staff within the communications and outreach team
- Act in accordance with the objectives and ethos of the platform
- Undertake other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time by the outreach and technical teams
- Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on all aspects of communications.
Experience and Knowledge :
- Degree in a relevant discipline, preferably a Master's Degree in communications
- Three to six years- experience in a communication
- Experience in project management with a proven track record of delivering on objectives
- Experience of developing and implementing media, advocacy or marketing campaigns
- Hands on experience in managing social media, writing press release, briefings and feature stories
- Experience of representing an organization to the public or/and media
- Knowledge and understanding of human rights, in particular children's rights
- Experience of overseeing and developing print publications from start to finish, including managing the work of external authors, copy-editors and designers.

- Ability to work calmly under pressure and within a small dynamic team
- Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
- Ability to manage a complex workload and work to tight deadlines
- Standard office ICT skills, including social media.
