Business Development Manager
Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated Route Sales Executive to develop prospect business in specific route pairings . The primary responsibilities include generating business for various products, achieving individual gross profit and volume targets, and building strong relationships with customers. The successful candidate will contribute to the sales plan, maintain sales administration, and actively participate in business development activities.
Responsibilities: Sales Administration:
- Process inquiries for air and sea freight, including origin and destination charges.
- Prepare standard operating procedures (SOP) in collaboration with internal stakeholders and ensure smooth account transitions.
- Maintain mutually agreed SOPs with clients within 15 days of onboarding.
- Report sales activities into the CRM tool.
- Submit a weekly sales visit plan to the line manager.
- Pursue activities to achieve set key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Complete necessary documentation such as customer account forms and sales reports.
- Assist in other tasks assigned by management.
Business Development:
- Conduct sales activities within the assigned region.
- Build and maintain business relationships with prospects and existing customers through regular client visits.
- Follow up on quotations and obtain customer feedback.
- Negotiate and close deals.
- Achieve individual gross profit and volume targets set by management.
- Generate sales leads for overseas branches.
- Collaborate with the team on trade lane development.
- Conduct regular market surveys and stay updated on industry trends and competition.
- Collect feedback from customers to gauge satisfaction and identify areas for improvement.
- Decision Making Authority: Exercise authorities delegated by the Regional Sales Manager/Territory Sales Manager, following standards and guidelines.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong influencing skills to align sales activities with multiple stakeholders.
- Excellent organizational skills, including prioritization and planning.
- Understanding of the company's sales strategy and ability to break it down into route-specific plans.
- Analytical skills for sales review and performance management.
- Financial and business awareness with the ability to identify opportunities and develop route strategies.
- Effective communication and networking abilities with cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Results-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus.
Educational Background / Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience.
- Experience in gathering and analyzing market data across various industries.
- Previous experience in an international company with a matrix organization.
- Graduate degree or MBA.
Language Skills:
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficiency in other languages is preferred.
Computer Literacy:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
