The role holder must conduct credit reviews of identified higher risk counterparties within the Hong Kong region, make suitable recommendations for further action to protect bank's lending position and minimize potential credit losses. The following are the broad responsibilities:
Analyze potential problem counterparties, make proper credit judgements, suggest methods to improve lending position and ensure that risks are thoroughly assessed by lending executives. This will involve development of appropriate strategies in collaboration with Team Heads / SVPs in Global Banking & Markets / Commercial Banking and clear and transparent communication with Offshore Wholesale & Market Risk / CRRI colleagues.
Assist in managing and monitoring developments of lower risk problematic accounts
Provide portfolio MI / industry analysis and lead event-triggered risk management projects as specified by senior management.
Maintain effective working relationships with Relationship Managers and Lending Executives by delivering value added service and establish rapport and credibility.
Implement operating procedures in line with the policy and procedures determined by CRRI and ensure strict adherence to the Group compliance and operational risk controls and regulatory standards, policies and practices; report control weaknesses, compliance breaches and operational loss events.
Ensure quality of work, adherence to workflow TATs and submission of MIS
Drive / assist recruitment, training and mentoring of the Asia Pacific Risk Identification team
Drive a high performance culture with high engagement levels and ensure business continuity and stability
Participate in the Offshore Wholesale & Market Risk management activities.
