Role Description:
- The role of Assistant Manager /Manager sits within Private Client Services. The team processes personal and trust tax returns for the both the UK and Canadian firms.
- The main function of this role is to oversee the preparation of UK and Canadian personal tax returns in Hyderabad and to liaise with the client teams based in the UK and Canada.
Responsibilities:
- As an Assistant Manager you will have responsibility for:
- The accurate preparation of more complex personal tax computations including partners in professional practices, high net worth individuals, company executives and entrepreneurs
- Initial preparation of personal tax computations using the firm's standard procedures
- Preparing standard letters to clients enclosing their tax returns and highlighting any queries or matters of judgement made when preparing the tax return;
- Identification and documentation of issues and preparation of client queries
- Assisting and resolving queries in order to finalise the tax computations
- Working as part of a wider team to complete required volumes of work
- Preparation of related tax return disclosures and preparation of other government forms
- Coaching and assisting more junior colleagues
- All other personal compliance related activities as required
- Participate in development and delivery of training sessions
Requirements:
To qualify for the role you must have:
- Experience of working in a personal tax compliance role and understanding of preparation processes
- Good related personal tax technical knowledge and skills
- Proactive approach to work and completing work by required deadlines
- Proven team working skills
- Exposure to other tax areas, (for example Non Resident Landlord, Partnerships and Reporting Funds) is not essential but would be desirable
- Able to follow defined procedures and protocols
- Ability to develop understanding and application of the firm's dedicated tax return preparation software
- Competent IT skills including a good understanding of Excel
- You will ideally be ACA/ATT/CTA qualified
- Proven ability to deliver the full cycle of project management responsibilities
- Superior verbal and communication skills in English
