We are looking for a results-driven Agriculture Sales Manager to join our team at an FMCG company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fertilizer sales or category management at the zonal or national level and possess excellent negotiation and vendor management skills. This role requires a proactive approach to managing product categories and achieving sales targets.
Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy Development: Formulate and implement effective sales strategies to drive growth in the agriculture segment, focusing on fertilizers and related products.
- Category Management: Manage product categories, ensuring alignment with market trends and customer needs, while achieving sales targets.
- Market Research: Conduct market analysis to identify opportunities for new product development and improvements in existing offerings.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and vendors, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Negotiation & Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing, while managing vendor performance to meet company standards.
- Sales Reporting: Monitor sales performance, prepare reports, and present insights to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and other teams to align sales initiatives with overall business objectives.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in fertilizer sales or category management at the zonal/national level.
- BSc. / MSc. in Agriculture; an MBA is preferred.
- Proven track record of managing product categories and achieving sales targets.
- Strong negotiation skills and vendor management abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong industry connections within the agriculture sector.
