Manager - Accounts Payable & Receivable - Retail

Job Overview:

- The Accounts Payable and Receivable Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company's accounts payable and receivable functions.

- This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial processes, and retail industry dynamics.

- The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, collections, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities:

- Oversee the daily operations of the accounts payable and receivable departments.

- Develop and implement efficient processes and controls for accounts payable and receivable functions.

- Manage and mentor a team of accounts payable and receivable staff.

- Ensure timely and accurate vendor payments, including invoice processing, matching, and coding.

- Manage cash application, customer invoicing, and collections.

- Monitor and reduce accounts receivable aging.

- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable accounts on a regular basis.

- Prepare and analyze financial reports related to accounts payable and receivable.

- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.

- Stay up-to-date with relevant accounting and financial regulations.

- Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company policies.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's/Master's degree in accounting or finance.

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable and receivable, preferably in the retail industry.

- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.

- Proven experience managing and developing teams.

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.

- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.

- Experience with retail-specific accounting systems and processes.

- Knowledge of sales tax and other relevant regulations
