Role Overview: This role will be a part of Hotel Category Team wherein the incumbent would be required to define and grow categories, increase top-line by engaging approaches pertaining to demand management, supply sufficiency, pricing controls, platform usability and category analysis. Know the Function: Hotels Category Team takes care of the category and Revenue portfolio, P&L, Discounting, demand management for the Hotels we have on boarded in our platforms. P&L Management and Driving Growth: - Manage the business P&L and devise strategies to achieve Category goals - Create and manage Category coupons to manage the daily net margin and transaction numbers - Create and manage bank / CRM codes for tactical marketing campaigns - Tracking performance parameters and keep a tight control on business KPI numbers - Deep dive into competitor pricing data and use signals to improve category pricing - Defining & driving the short term and long term growth plan agenda of the category while working with various cross functional teams - Deep dive onto demand signals / traffic data to decipher business and marketing strategy - Collaborate with marketing to devise and execute engagement strategies and campaigns - Collaborate with supply team to drive availability, assortment, pricing competitiveness - Understanding the new markets - the trends/customer behavior and working with marketing, supply and product to maximize conversion basis those trends - Follow a stringent action plan and collaborate with the product team to increase platform conversion for the hotels category - Work with product teams to automate / improve pricing - Collaborate with operations team to devise and ensure smooth post-sale processes 2. Data Analysis and Reporting: - Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources - Proactively analyse data using statistical methods to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity Tools that will be used: - MS Excel - MS Power-point - Google Analytics/ Omniture - SQL What are we looking for in you? Relevant Experience: - Past experience of working in an online product ecosystem would be advantageous - Experience in handling multiple accounts as a category manager will be preferred Personality: - Good understanding of the product category, market, and growth opportunities in order to implement strategic and targeted action plans to achieve goals - Data analytics and financial modeling ability - Google Analytics/ Omniture, SQL, Advanced MS Excel desirable - Strong communication skills, Influencing skills, great interpersonal & stakeholder management skills - High on energy, team player coupled with a great attitude What's in it for you?
