Job purpose :
Provide leadership and coordination of company sales and marketing functions. Develop and implement sales and marketing strategy. Monitor and analyse sales and marketing activity against goals.
Duties and responsibilities :
Responsibilities :
Strategic Planning
- Providing inputs for organizational strategy
- Participating in organizational business reviews
- Identification and exploration of new opportunities for business growth
Sales Planning and Management
- Cascading organizational strategy to formulate sales strategy for own region
- Draft and implement the sales organization structure including manpower planning
- Preparation of annual sales plan and targets
- Preparation of monthly sales forecasts
- Monitor achievement of sales targets on periodic basis
- Identification and development of new markets/zones
- Providing inputs for pricing and product positioning
- Updating price lists for products on monthly basis or as relevant
- Formulation of weekly sales plan and activities at zonal level
Sales :
- Achievement of sales and collection targets
- Lead generation activities and cold calling
- Customer referral meetings
- Mapping of retailers to each distributor
- Appointment of new distributors and retailers
- Identification of upcoming and existing projects for market penetration
- Penetration of existing markets/zones
- Creating and updating customer ledger
- Order collection and collation from distributors, projects and retailers
- Price negotiations and finalization of rate contracts
- Approval of any special discounts, rates, etc.
- Agreement on commission structure and credit period with customers
- Processing of purchase orders raised by customers
- Collection of payment from customers
- Monitoring and reducing the pool of overdue accounts receivables
- Assistance to Sales team of distributors for converting opportunities
Customer Relationship Management :
- Finalization and communication of distributor targets for each zone
- Maintenance and updating of customer database
- Key account management and servicing of distributors, retailers and projects
- Management of distributor, retailer and project network
- Building and maintaining a pool of architects, contractors, purchase managers etc.
- Drive and encourage customer satisfaction and feedback
- Redressal of customer grievances, issues and complaints
- Development of customer engagement calendar and plan
- Implementation of customer engagement initiatives
- Organization of product training and concept selling workshops
- Training and skill building for Sales team of distributors
Sales Support and Coordination :
- Coordination with Production for order fulfillment
- Tracking delivery of products to customers
- Preparation and submission of MIS
- Analysis of MIS for decision making
- Ensuring relevant data is uploaded in Navision
- Highlight customer delinquencies for appropriate action
Marketing :
- Develop annual marketing plan and calendar including budget
- Identify target markets and target channels of communication
- Timely execution of marketing plan activities within budget
- Market research activities and analyzing market trends or intelligence
- Competitor benchmarking and product / price analysis
- Identify and finalize agency for marketing communication and PR
- Establish guidelines for branding and explore avenues for branding
- Promote brand awareness through online channels of communication
- Conduct road shows for brand awareness
- New product launch activities
- Media interactions and press relations
- Participation in trade fairs / events / expos
- Design and development of marketing collaterals
- Ensure availability of marketing collaterals
- Provide and install marketing collaterals at points of purchase and project sites
- Set up kiosks for imparting product knowledge at potential catchment areas
- Convene seminars or conclaves of architects / builders / retailers / contractors / masons
- Region specific festival celebration meet with customers
Team Management :
- Delegate daily / weekly tasks and assign targets to team members
- Ensure compliance with standard operating processes and company policies
- Coordinate with HR for closing vacancies and conducting interviews
- Review performance of team including goal setting and performance appraisals
- Take ownership of administrative matters related to staff including leave approval
- Identify and close training and skill building needs for Sales team
- Address grievances of team members and facilitate suitable resolution / escalation
- Motivate and guide team to excel individually and as a team
Qualification, Knowledge & Skill Required: -
- Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
- Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management. Knowledge of structuring sales quota goals and revenue expectations. Experience in planning marketing strategies, advertising campaigns, and successful public relations efforts.
- Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
- This is normally acquired through a combination of the completion of a Master's Degree in Marketing from premium colleges Viz . .preferred IIT, IIM and min ten years of experience in a senior-level sales and/or marketing position.
