Maersk Global Service Centres

The Maersk Global Service Centres are spread across 6 sites with strength of over 10000 employees. The GSC is responsible for facilitating & executing offshoring primarily for Maersk Line & all other Business Units of the APMM Group. The GSC has proved successful in doubling its size over the past two years whilst improving customer satisfaction and processes of our business partners.

- With the essential shift of the GSC from a processor to a solution provider the GSC organization is able to become more agile, efficient and able to speed up decision making.

- To that end, the senior leadership of the GSC will need to work with many different stakeholders directly, thus requiring leaders deeper in the organization to take on enhanced responsibilities.

Position Title : Site Procurement to Payment Head

Location : Chennai / Pune

Reports to : Global Procurement to Payment Head

Direct Report :

- Regional P2P Leads

- Overall Business Size of 200+ employees

Key Relationships :

- Global Business CFOs and Regional CFOs and Region Tops

- Centre Finance Teams

- LOC and Cluster Operations Leaders

- GSC FNA Leads across functions

- External Auditors

- Business Controls & Compliance Leads

Main Focus and Challenges :

The Site P2P Lead is responsible for managing and over-seeing end to end service delivery of Procure to Pay (P2P) function across all Bus, LOCs and Countries, for the regions assigned under him/her. Support the transformation of the P2P function, by taking it close to the market Top Quartile through external benchmarking and continuous focus on standardization, digitization and automation. Manage a team of 200 employees.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the Service Delivery / Execution for the P2P function and sub processes (procurement service, invoice processing, payment processing, etc) in order to ensure an efficient, effective and cost effective service to the Maersk Line businesses.

- Support cost leadership and ensure Cost of Delivery is in targeted quartile of industry benchmarks.

- Support the alignment of Cost and Accounts Payable teams into the P2P Vertical and identify standardisation opportunities to optimise the execution, process design and people management aspects of the vertical.

- Support the integration of a range of IT system platforms, processes, stakeholder and vendor relationships related to payments processing to ensure the financial integrity of the company and improve customer satisfaction.

- Ensure that various processes are well documented, make best use of technology and process and are integrated into ways of working and systems across the business.

- Establish and agree key performance targets and financial budgets in the short and long term in order to optimize business performance and maintain the effectiveness of payments and procurement with set objectives.

- Recruit, motivate and develop both professional and management teams across all layers in order to maximize flexibility and effectiveness and promote positive team working and alignment to cultural amplifiers.

- Develop and grow strong relationships and communications internally and externally (agencies, vendors, etc) to ensure alignment of expectations and to develop efficiencies where possible.

- Determine, agree and improve contractual requirements/Service Level Agreements (SLA) with vendors in order to meet service specifications and deliver against business objectives.

- Review and challenge existing policies and processes to ensure they are compliant and fit for purpose in providing exceptional customer service and accurately record and track procurement and payment processing.

- Support the transformation of the function, by playing an active role in Organisation restructuring, change management and deployment of governance frameworks.

Key Performance Indicators :

- Ensure targeted Business Results are attained in terms of Revenue, Cost and end customer satisfaction.

- Sustain Delivery, efficiency, BPSAT, EES and Cost of operation targets

- Improve process execution through standardization; enhance capability resulting value for the company w.r.t Cost & Revenue.

- Seamless Business Continuity for Liner Operations both in GSC and LOC

- People related metrics - timely hiring, attrition and team development

- To own the people agenda for the employees aligned.

About The Person :

- Qualified Chartered Accountant, or ICWA or MBA Finance

- Minimum 12-15 years experience with leadership in leading a large, global, multinational team

- Deep understanding of end to end business continuum (value chain) of atleast one industry (not just restricted to Finance)

- Thorough experience in end to end P2P execution and process improvement, including understanding of LB Cost Management process including technology interface.

- Experience in Closing, consolidation and reporting under multiple- Legal entities and multiple geographies scenario

- Thorough understanding of Control Framework and hands on experience in driving financial controls within large finance organisation

- Experience in managing large global teams spread across multiple countries and locations

- Experience in both Core Industry and Shared Services preferable

- Understanding of SAP: FI (GL & CO) & SD, MM

- Strong understanding of finance and business drivers - preferably in shipping or related industry

- Strategic and concentrated focus on Customer, Cost and Quality

- Have the ability to manage change - understand concepts of change management with demonstrated capabilities

- Prove record of the ability to lead, train, coach, evaluate and mentor high performing teams

- Able to consistently demonstrate & live cultural dimensions of Simplicity, Focus &

Teamwork :

- Good team player as part of senior leadership team for GSC
