Main Purpose -
Lykos Metal Operator is responsible for executing all aspects of the trade to the best commercial advantage while ensuring full compliance with regulations and legislation. The scope of this includes assessing logistical, credit, hedging, and performance risk and proactively working to reduce- if not eliminate entirely- risks on each of these levels.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities -
- BE/MBA degree in Supply Chain /Finance or a related subject
- 2-3 years- experience in the metal/logistics industry preferred.
- Fluent English essential as daily contact with traders and internal departments is conducted in English.
- Strong communication skills
- Solid analytical capabilities, including the ability to summarize complex logistical issues and detailed analysis with clarity and brevity in written or oral form.
- Accurate and efficient working style with good attention to detail to complete the daily processes
- Ability to be flexible with working hours in the event of deadlines and work well under pressure
- Result oriented, open personality with energy and drive
- Ability to work under minimum guidance in a complex business environment and leading projects involving cross functional teams
- Leadership, interpersonal skills and ability to influence others
- IT skills: Excel, Word, Outlook, VBA programming, any exposure to ERP would be an advantage.
Key Responsibilities -
- Written and verbal communication, coordination with suppliers, customers and service providers to execute physical metal shipments through various modes of logistics and ensuring delivery of metals on time.
- Perform controller activities on the online platform to publish daily premiums, prices and manage various controls related to pricing and delivery optionality to customers, collateral and margin management, order management to ensure seamless execution of trades online.
- Preparation, verification, and handling of all contractual, shipping and statutory documents
- Invoicing as per various types of trades and payments terms (Letters of Credit, Bank Guarantee, Bank collections, Open Account etc)
- Checking and arranging payments to suppliers, transporters and other service providers.
- Hedging the metals based on the Quotation periods/pricing options and market structure.
- Maintenance of multiple reports including Credit Exposure, Pricing exposure/risk cards, statutory documentation, logistics, warehouse inventory reports, market premium analysis, sales analytics and insights.
- Forecasting and inventory management of various metals across warehouse locations and imports planning.
- Working with IT development team in new product development initiatives, improvement of existing functionalities and resolving defects.
- Work with various teams on productivity improvement, cost reduction initiatives of inbound supply chain.
- Assist traders in P&L analysis, running various scenarios for maximizing P&L of lifting of quotas under various long term purchase contracts while fulfilling obligations under sales contracts.
- Derivatives positions management in coordination with traders to maximize the overall P&L.
- Reconciliation of account statements with suppliers and customers on a periodic basis
