Strategy & Planning :
- Assist in the development of guidelines for utilization of funds, in line with financial risk management guidelines
- Frame accounting policies and procedures for organization and drive conformance to them across the various function
- Collate, develop and present the annual budget for all departments/ functions to make the annual budget for unit
Operations :
Day-to-day operations :
- Examine proposals from project finance and business development departments for financial concurrence
- Ensure identification of accounting relating risks with the Head- Finance to facilitate implementation of financial risk mitigation plans
- Provide timely and accurate cash requirement forecasts to the Treasury function to enable timely disbursements
- Perform working capital management including deployment of available surplus funds to ensure adequate liquidity is maintained in the organization
- Oversee the process of stock valuation with the help of data on purchase and sales figures and opening and closing stock
- Oversee the transfer pricing arrangement between the Business functions
Business Related Expenses :
- Ensure timely payments and ensure compliance with respect to capital payments, other assets and tax payments and vendor payments. Ensure that the disbursements do not exceed budgetary approvals, order or contract terms etc.
- Manage the payroll function and ensure that all employees get their salaries on the due date with proper compliance to various statutory norms and required deductions
- Identify and review insurance requirements for unit and ensure that appropriate schemes are in place
Finance and Control :
- Maintain efficient financial information systems in the organization to enable the senior management to take appropriate and timely actions
- Build internal financial controls within the company and ensure all financial activities are performed in accordance with the financial controls
- Drive cost and budgetary control to enable delivery of committed cost targets, by frequently reviewing payables and receivables across all business units
- Analyze costs across the organisation, recommend cost control measures and ensure proper implementation of the same
People Management :
- Comprehensive people management responsibilities, in terms of :
1. Handling Performance Appraisals of subordinates - Set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback on performance so as to ensure a motivated and committed team
2. Playing an active role in recruitment of incumbents into the team
3. Responsibility for recommending promotions in the team
4. Ensuring high level of employee engagement and retention of key personnel
5. Responsibility for training and counseling of the team along with career planning & development
6. Enhancing the competency level of the team, by providing them opportunities like feedback, training, coaching, etc.
- Drive the development of Manpower plans for the team to ensure adequate manpower for the team
Desired Qualification : CA/ ICWA
Desired Experience : 12+ years of experience with at least the last 5 years spent in the control function
