Position : Regional Logistic Operation Manager-East

Location : Kolkata

Education- MBA/PGDM from Tier 1 B School Campus e.g. NITIE, IIMs, IIT-SOM, Sp Jain, SCMHRD and SIBM etc.

Year of passing - 2005/2006/2007 Batch

Prior Experience-

Atleast 6-7 years FMCG/ Consumer Durables/ Cement/ experience in dealing with warehouses and transportation logistics. Should have handled racked Warehouses, Transporters and Service providers directly in the previous assignment.

Good Understanding of the Warehouse Layout design principles and Modern Handling Equipments.

Job description :

Primarily Responsible for creating the systems/policies related in the area of Logistics Operations, Analyzing the countrywide Trends on Logistics Performance and addressing the Key hindrances to the Performance, Vendor Development, and Benchmarking of the secondary Freight within internal and external environments, Process improvement projects, and Building Logistics Capability.

The Key Responsibilities include the Following

1. Customer Service & Logistics Operations

- Creating systems to ensure the desired customer service levels by reviewing and Improve “Execution with in Same day.

- To develop and implement systems to track the TITs to the customers and ensure the same is as per the customer requirements.

- Create the policies related to Logistics Operations and align the Field Teams on the same.

- Analyze the Operational Performance locations on an All India basis and identify the Weak Performing Locations.

- Draw out action Plans along with locations and Review the same to ensure that the performance is improved.

2. Warehousing:

- Responsible for ensuring the Inventory Record Accuracy position across the country on a daily basis and Identify the Critical issues and Locations and work with locations to resolve the issue within the timelines.

- Responsible for ensuring the FMFO adherence levels regularly and create an action Plan to address the same.

- Addressing the Issues in Repacking with the respective businesses and resolve the issues.

- Responsible for Selection of Warehouse Service Providers and Negotiation of Rates.

- Responsible for facilitating the procurement of assets like Material Handling equipments, Pallets etc.

- To create systems for Independent Audit of the Warehouse Hygiene and Inventory at the locations.

- Responsible for designing the Warehouse Layouts, put away and picking strategies along with the projects team and Implementation of the Best in class technological solutions i.e WMS, RF, Racking solutions etc.

- Responsible for creating and managing the complete Warehousing Budget which includes Rental, WSP and Handling expenses.

- Drive productivity through improvements in TATs &People effectiveness across the ITC Warehouses.

3. Freight Optimization and Vendor Development

- Continuously update the vendor base for Secondary and explore the National Vendors for K3 along with the District.

- Analyse Freight Performance Branch wise and Provide Benchmarks to the districts for Improvements.

- Benchmark the different logistics practices across the other FMCG companies and finalise ITC strategy on secondary Freight for different markets along with the RLMs.

- Provide Tools and expertise to the field Teams on Transportation Optimization through Route/Frequency Optimization.

4. Capability Building of the Operations Team

- Identifying the Training needs of the Logistics Team.

- Work with Internal/External consultants on identifying the right programs

- Coordination with HR to roll out the Training on SAP/ Warehousing operations.
