Logistics Operations Manager - Primary - FMCG

Purpose of the Job: Managing primary transportation in a cost efficient manner and maintaining service effectiveness.

Key Focus Area:

- Customer service: placement of Stock w.r.t availability at ware house and managing network & transportation

- Cost negotiations: ensuring fill rates by close coordination with planning team

- Operational efficiencies pertaining to product mix and optimal utilization

- Vendor management New vendor development

- Incentives and rewards

Principal Accountabilities:

- Placement in TIT adherences and availability of stocks

- Ensuring Product Freshness through optimal network management and de-layering.

- Cost and budget management

- Business support - new factories / categories etc

- Stock safety

Key Success Factors:

- Strong analytical skills with a good understanding of networks

- Vendor Management Skills

- Experience of freight negotiation and Transportation Management (in FMCG or White goods Environment)

- Strong People management interpersonal and multi tasking skills

- Ability to work in a fast paced and demanding environment

Internal Linkages:

- Entire Supply Chain team

- Finance& HO teams

- Field RLMs / Finance Managers

- Manufacturing and production teams in divisional

Qualifications:

- B.Tech + MBA (from premier B School) with 5-7 years of relevant experience.

Position is presently based in Kolkata but candidates should be mobile and ready to relocate.
