Learning Designer


Role purpose :


- As part of the LR Academy create learning & development solutions to effectively support LR's goals and objectives.

- As an internal supplier to the business and functional teams, and a competent L&D Content Designer, drive the creation of practical learning interventions that directly support the identified need, are 'customer focused', and are relevant to the presented problem and audience.

- In summary, develop the right learning and development options that deliver the right learning, to the right people, in the right way, at the right time, maintaining consistency whilst considering the complexity of global needs, inclusivity and cultural differences.

Key Responsibilities :

- Undertake the design of classroom, virtual, online and blended learning interventions that support the objectives of the business.

- Project manage the design of solutions from the interpretation of learning needs through to the delivery and evaluation of the solution, regularly reporting progress to Lead Learning Designer

- Analyse business needs to identify the most effective and efficient way to meet the performance and development needs, taking into account technology, budget and timescales.

- Design learning interventions using inclusive practices to enable fair development opportunities.

- Work as one team with subject-matter experts, other designers, internally & externally, and regional L&D resources to ensure learning solutions are designed to fit the customer and learner need.

- Support the use of strategic and detailed training needs analysis for all L&D requests to determine 'right fit' solutions against identified performance gap(s).

- Use consultative skills to fully understand the requirements and present the most appropriate solution to the customer

- Keep up to date with industry best practice and drive ideas of what 'great' L&D interventions are, bringing in external insight and latest industry thinking to continually evolve learning design.

- Evaluate L&D interventions in order to drive continual improvement and best practice across the LR Academy.

- Champion LR's learning experience platform Learning Zone to help colleagues access personal and career development resources easily at the point of need.

- Champions LR culture, values and behaviour ensuring that they are reflected in all training content and delivery.

Technical / Professional Qualifications / Requirements :

- Proven experience with eLearning authoring tools Articulate 360 suite, Adobe Captivate or similar.

- Basic graphic design experience Adobe Photoshop, InDesign) desirable, not essential.

- Record of designing L&D interventions which deliver proven return on investment against key business metrics that demonstrate tangible business benefit.

- Experience of strong instructional design methodologies, working across all training mediums (e.g. classroom, online, social & informal).

- Ability to adapt to constant changing demands positively and effectively.

- Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.

- Experience of project management, able to take design project from concept to implementation.

- Experience working with a learning experience platform desirable (creating, editing, maintaining content), not essential.
