A multinational logistics company is currently seeking a Litigation Lawyer for their Mumbai office. Ideal candidates should have a minimum of 9 years of experience in handling a diverse range of litigation and arbitration cases, and a deep understanding of litigation procedures. Candidates must have strong analytical skills and excellent communication abilities. It is also preferred that the candidate has at least 4-5 years of experience working in a reputable law firm.
Job Responsibilities
1. Provide timely updates and sound legal advice to the management and internal stakeholders on litigation matters in India.
2. Assess the strengths and weaknesses of legal positions and advise on potential outcomes.
3. Manage a portfolio of litigation and arbitration cases from inception to resolution.
4. Conduct legal research and analysis to develop case strategies.
5. Manage external lawyers representing PSA before the courts and arbitrations.
6. Attend court/arbitration proceedings in different cities, where applicable.
7. Draft legal notices, responses and review pleadings and the customary litigation documents.
8. Negotiate settlements and agreements in respect of the disputes, when appropriate.
9. In addition to handling litigation matters, the candidate will also be responsible for rolling out of compliance requirements.
10. Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
