HR Partner and India Compensation Lead


The HR Partner will serve as a strategic advisor for Lenovo's client-focused, revenue-generating teams, leading end-to-end HR initiatives that support business growth and effectiveness. Additionally, this role will manage compensation strategy across India, ensuring competitive pay structures and compliance with local regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in both HR business partnering and compensation management, with the ability to build relationships and drive strategic HR solutions in a matrixed, sales-driven environment.

As HR Partner:

- Lead the full employee lifecycle for sales-oriented teams, aligning HR strategies with business goals such as revenue growth, customer acquisition, and market expansion.

- Partner with senior sales leaders to enhance team effectiveness, drive performance improvement, and achieve sales targets.

- Manage stakeholder and employee relations in high-pressure sales environments, ensuring timely resolution of issues to maintain business continuity.

- Collaborate with COEs to deliver HR programs focused on talent acquisition, development, and retention for high-performing, client-facing teams.

- Use data and performance metrics to make informed decisions, identify trends, and drive actions that enhance both employee experience and productivity.

- Implement corporate HR policies tailored to sales team dynamics, coaching managers on performance management and talent development, while designing competitive incentive structures.

As India Compensation Leader:

- Implement corporate compensation strategies customized for local market needs, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and alignment with business goals.

- Conduct local salary benchmarking to ensure competitive and equitable compensation packages for talent across functions.

- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and corporate governance in all compensation practices.

- Provide data-driven insights on compensation trends to support leadership in making strategic pay and workforce planning decisions.

- Clearly communicate compensation policies to employees at all levels, fostering transparency and trust in pay structures and incentives.

Core Competencies and Differentiating Capabilities:

- Expertise in performance management, career development, total compensation, and talent review, with the ability to balance pay-for-performance with market competitiveness.

- Strong skills in strategic, data-driven decision-making to guide compensation strategies aligned with business objectives.

- Proven change leadership to drive HR transformations, evolving compensation structures to support business growth and talent retention.

- Ability to influence leaders and collaborate across departments, delivering HR solutions aligned with business strategies in fast-paced environments.

- Courage to address challenges and propose innovative solutions, fostering a forward-thinking and adaptable HR culture.

Experience & Qualifications:

- MBA in Human Resources, or a Master's in HR Management, Business, or a related field.

- 8+ years of progressive HR experience as an HR Business Partner, particularly for sales or revenue-generating teams.

- Experience in managing compensation and rewards programs, with a strong understanding of sales incentives and competitive pay structures.

- Proven ability to partner with senior leadership, especially within sales-driven organizations.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills, with the ability to present insights and recommendations to executive stakeholders.
