Legal Manager - Head Office - Bangalore (4+ years)
One of the reputed Bank is looking to hire Legal Manager for their Head Office - Bangalore. Looking for Litigation Lawyer 4+ years of PQE.
Job Responsibilities:
Business:
- Monitoring and effectively support the Regional Legal Team in regard to litigation portfolio of the Bank. Reducing the number of litigations filed/pursued by the Bank and those litigations against the Bank.
- Take proactive steps in filing recovery applications before Debt Recovery Tribunals as per the provisions of RDDBFI Act. Suggesting measures for enhancement of recovery and reduction of NPA for the Region.
- Taking proactive measures in all litigation matters, to ensure earliest closure as also to bring the opponents for negotiating table.
Customer:
- Give sound legal advice and recommendations to Collection and other business verticals (MSE, Housing, Vehicle Finance) stakeholders and Management in order to protect the legal interests of the Bank.
- Communicate/interact with High Courts, Tribunal and other forums Regulators, Statutory Authorities like PF, ESI etc, for resolution of legal issues/ensuring compliance. Interact with other stakeholders like Credit, Collection and other business verticals of HO for
- Interact with other stakeholders like Credit, Collection and other business verticals of HO for managing NPA & submission of updates to management after collecting the information from the stakeholders.
- Take proactive steps for early disposal of all cases pending before various consumer forums.
Internal Process:
- Adhere to timelines in obtaining maintaining TAT, maintenance/reporting of MIS, submission of periodical Statements to Top Management of the Bank. Monitor the timelines of submission of reports/statements (quarterly reports pertaining to SARFAESI, DRT & Consumer cases), if any, to RBI, Government Authorities and other regulators in a timely manner.
- Support the secured lending departments in resolving NPA Accounts through measures taken/ to be taken under the provisions of SARFAESI Act (including managing Enforcement Agencies) and assist the Verticals in other recovery methods.
- Co-ordinate with Collections and other verticals for taking possession of secured assets and sale of them as per SARFAESI and taking Legal action through Region.
Learning & Performance:
- Educate the stakeholders on legal aspects, maintain a database on Applicable laws pertaining to the area of operation, comprising FAQs, dos & don'ts as a ready reference. Conduct training on relevant laws/acts to stakeholders on a periodic basis.
- Keeping a track on the latest laws affecting litigation and recovery including SARFAESI (and the relevant decisions) affecting business verticals and proactively advise the business teams about such amendments and its implication.
- Ensure goal-setting, midyear review and annual appraisal process for self within the specified timelines.
