Legal Head - Travel
Job Description: Legal Head We are seeking an experienced Legal Head to join our organization. The ideal candidate should have 5-7 years of relevant experience in the areas of leave and license agreements, vendor payments, legal notices, intellectual property violations, trademarks, standard franchisee agreements, vetting agreements, and legal drafting. Previous experience in the Travel Industry would be highly preferred.
Responsibilities:
1. Leave and License Agreements: Draft, review, and negotiate leave and license agreements for various properties, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. Provide legal advice and guidance to internal stakeholders on matters related to lease agreements, rental terms, and termination clauses.
2. Vendor Payments: Oversee the legal aspects of vendor payments, including contract negotiations, payment terms, and dispute resolution. Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure vendor agreements comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
3. Legal Notices: Prepare and issue legal notices to contractors, suppliers, or other parties in compliance with contractual obligations and applicable laws. Coordinate with external legal counsel when necessary to ensure effective resolution of legal disputes.
4. Intellectual Property and Trademark: Monitor and protect the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks and copyrights. Identify and address any potential violations of intellectual property rights, taking appropriate legal action as required.
5. Franchisee Agreements: Develop and maintain standard franchisee agreements, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks. Review and negotiate franchise agreements, addressing legal risks and protecting the company's interests.
6. Vetting Agreements: Review and vet various agreements, such as supplier contracts, service agreements, partnership agreements, and licensing agreements. Identify and assess legal risks, ensuring that agreements are in line with company policies and legal requirements.
7. Legal Drafting: Prepare and draft legal documents, including contracts, agreements, policies, and legal opinions. Ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
8. Legal Compliance: Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry practices, and ensure the company's compliance. Provide legal advice and guidance on regulatory compliance matters, including data privacy, consumer protection, and employment laws.
9. Legal Support: Provide legal support and guidance to various departments within the organization, including operations, marketing, and human resources. Conduct legal research, prepare legal opinions, and assist in resolving legal issues as they arise.
Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from a reputable institution is preferred in the Travel Industry. Strong knowledge and experience in leave and license agreements, vendor payments, legal notices, intellectual property, trademarks, standard franchisee agreements, vetting agreements, and legal drafting. Sound understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and legal practices. Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines. Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and mitigate legal risks. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders and external legal counsel. Note: This job description serves as a general overview.
