Overview
As a Legal Counsel - Litigations in our Fintech organization, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all legal aspects related to litigations, disputes, and regulatory matters. Your role is crucial in ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and protecting the organization's legal interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent the organization in litigations and disputes, and effectively manage all related legal proceedings.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to provide proactive advice on potential litigation risks and legal strategies.
- Collaborate with external counsel and experts to support and enhance the organization's legal positions.
- Develop and implement strategies for resolving disputes and minimizing legal exposure.
- Stay up-to-date with Fintech regulations and legislation, and provide guidance on compliance and legal implications.
- Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, briefs, and other filings.
- Participate in negotiations and settlement discussions, striving to achieve favorable outcomes.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters and potential risks associated with litigations.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of internal policies and procedures related to litigation management.
- Contribute to the training and education of staff regarding legal and litigation matters.
- Manage external legal resources and ensure cost-effective and efficient legal services.
- Participate in mediation and alternative dispute resolution processes.
- Prepare regular reports and updates on litigations, disputes, and regulatory developments.
- Assist in other legal matters and projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the state bar as an attorney in good standing.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience practicing law with a focus on litigations, preferably in the Fintech industry.
- Strong knowledge of Fintech regulations, consumer protection laws, and commercial litigation processes.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex litigations and dispute resolution.
- Excellent legal research and writing skills with the ability to effectively communicate legal concepts and strategies.
- Proven negotiation and advocacy skills with the ability to represent the organization's interests in legal proceedings.
- Ability to work independently, make sound judgments, and handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with internal teams and external partners.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in all legal matters.
- Experience in providing legal counsel to business units and senior management on litigation and regulatory issues.
- Proficiency in utilizing legal databases, case management systems, and other legal resources.
- Knowledge of e-discovery processes and technology for managing litigation documents and evidence.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment within the Fintech industry.
- Continuing education and professional development in relevant legal areas is desirable.
