Job Overview :


The Procurement Subcontractor (Civil) is responsible for managing the subcontractor procurement process, sourcing materials, and coordinating with civil subcontractors to meet project specifications, timelines, and budgets. This role requires strong negotiation skills, a solid understanding of the civil construction industry, and the ability to maintain effective subcontractor relationships to ensure project success.

Key Responsibilities:

- Identify and evaluate potential civil subcontractors based on project needs, budget constraints, and compliance with company standards.

- Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations), RFPs (Request for Proposals), and RFI (Request for Information) to qualified subcontractors.

- Conduct pre-qualification assessments and shortlist vendors based on technical expertise, financial health, and past project performance.

- Negotiate terms, pricing, and contractual obligations with subcontractors to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery.

- Draft, review, and finalize subcontract agreements, ensuring they meet legal and regulatory standards as well as project-specific requirements.

- Manage change orders and variations to contracts as required.

- Monitor subcontractor performance and compliance with project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

- Address any subcontractor issues or delays promptly to maintain project timelines.

- Monitor and report on costs associated with subcontractor services to ensure alignment with project budgets.

Experience Required:

- 4+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or contract management within the civil construction industry.

- Experience managing subcontractor relationships in civil projects (roads, bridges, buildings, infrastructure, etc.) is highly preferred.

Key Skills:

- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.

- Knowledge of civil construction methods, materials, and industry regulations.

- Ability to manage multiple subcontractor relationships and ensure on-time, quality delivery.

- Proficiency in procurement software, ERP systems, and MS Office Suite.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

- Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
