LEAN Management:

PLS Initiatives:

- Guide all Company Lean System (PLS) initiatives within the Division.

- Collaborate with Division staff and Plant management on Lean implementation, using Company Lean Systems as the primary tool.

- Develop a robust Lean Future State Strategy for Division-wide implementation.

PLS Standards Adherence:

- Ensure adherence to PLS standards at the Division for Site, Value Stream, and Team Improvement boards.

- Foster a PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act) culture and support the progression of the Lean Journey.

Technical and Operational Recommendations:

- Provide high-level technical and operational recommendations to meet productivity, material control, product quality, and customer service goals.

Kaizen Leadership:

- Lead and execute kaizen events aligned with site, division, and group strategy deployment.

- Coach division leaders on leveraging kaizen for business improvements.

- Facilitate or lead kaizen teams at Group Lean Director, Group President kaizens, and act as Sensei for General Manager kaizens.

Organizational Alignment:

- Review organizational structure and align resources for Lean transformation.

- Develop Plant teams across multi-site divisions, emphasizing championing the Division's goals, objectives, and Lean Journey implementation plans.

- Employee Education and Continuous Learning:

- Ensure ongoing education of all Division employees in PLS.

- Promote a Continuous Learning environment.

Lean Efforts Communication:

- Communicate the status of all Lean efforts to Group & Regional Lean Leaders.

- Provide documentation of results and benefits achieved to Division Staff and Corporate Lean Leader through Comapny Lean Journey Assessment and Win scorecard.

Best Practice Sharing:

- Share best practice methods and ideas with Group & Regional Lean leaders.

Manufacturing Engineering:

NPD Leadership:

- Lead the New Product Development (NPD) function from manufacturing to meet APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) requirements as per customer specifications.

- Implement NPD to achieve company targets and customer satisfaction.

- Ensure new products and processes are production-ready.

Cost and Resource Computation:

- Calculate required amounts of labor and materials, manufacturing costs, and benefit costs.

Quality Problem Solving:

- Collaborate with vendors and internal quality teams to resolve line and customer quality issues.

Process Improvement:

- Develop and improve processes to reduce rejection and scrap, increasing profitability by addressing Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).

Team Development:

- Foster a cohesive culture among associates, supervisors, and other team members.

- Identify training needs for subordinates and organize necessary training to improve efficiency and morale.

Productivity and Safety Training:

- Drive High-Performance Teams (HPT) and New Product Teams (NPT) improvements related to production and plant by developing a robust Kaizen system.

- Train personnel on manufacturing processes, safety best practices, and productivity enhancements.

- Conduct behavior-based safety training.

Zero-Defect Improvement:

- Responsible for productivity and zero-defect improvement in line with Annual Improvement Plans (AIP) for the machine shop.

Development and Production Oversight:

- Oversee the development and production of mobile and industrial hydraulic products, ensuring timely and budget-compliant project completion.

Team Management:

- Collaborate with the engineering team on product design, ensuring products meet customer needs and industry standards.

- Manage and lead the mobile & industrial hydraulic products team, providing guidance, training, and mentorship.

Kaizen Programs in Automation:

- Lead and implement Kaizen programs in manufacturing line automation to enhance productivity.

- Communications Coordination:

- Promote coordination of communications between value streams, ensuring effective flow of materials and backup.

AFE Proposals Handling:

- Responsible for handling Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) proposals and implementation.

Supplier Management:

- Collaborate with suppliers for facilities management.

- Develop and implement a supplier management strategy with the Supply Chain.

- Responsible for supplier selection, assessment, and action implementation.

- Evaluate and maintain suppliers' quality, stock, and lead time of consumables and tools.

- Coordinate with suppliers for service, machinery, and tools procurements.

- Cost/Productivity Improvements:

- Drive cost/productivity improvements using tools like Single-Minute Exchange of Die (SMED), cycle time reduction, and optimization.

Qualifications:

Experience:

- 15-20 years of manufacturing engineering (machining) and lean experience, demonstrating a self-starting and hands-on approach.

Education:

- Four-year degree in Engineering or equivalent required.

- Master's in Business Administration (MBA) in Operations/Lean Manufacturing is an added advantage.

Skills and Knowledge:

Strong understanding of Lean principles such as Value Stream Mapping, Just-In-Time, Demand Flow, Single Piece Flow, Five S's, Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continuous Improvement Process, Kaizen, SPC, APQP, Six Sigma, Communication Tools, Statistical Problem Solving, and ISO9001 or similar.
