Lead Scientist - Resin Synthesis/Polymer Synthesis

We are hiring Scientist-Polymer Synthesis/Resin Synthesis with leading chemical firm based out in Mumbai.

Job Description :

- Evaluate the scientific feasibility and contribute insights to develop technology and product strategies for new intermediates and building blocks in epoxy resin formulations and polyurethane formulations.

- Focus on applications in buildings and constructions, such as floor coatings, waterproof coatings, and tile and stone fixing solutions.

- Manage the product development and improvement portfolio, including productivity programs, and ensure alignment with business strategy and timely project completion.

- Plan, design, and conduct research and development activities on new materials, including synthesis and characterization of building blocks like polyamine adducts, PU pre-polymers, polyamides, and modified epoxy resins.

- Oversee experiments, data generation, and maintenance to ensure data integrity, quality control, and protocol compliance.

- Develop a database and enhance capabilities in the area of polymer synthesis and manufacturing.

- Write operating procedures for new products, oversee pilot production and plant scale-up, and facilitate technology transfer.

- Serve as an internal resource for scientific and technical information related to polymer synthesis and manufacturing.

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product formulations, purchasing, and operations to optimize manufacturing processes, productivity, and cost-effectiveness.

- Ensure equipment and supplies are properly used and maintained, and promote workplace safety and environmental practices.

- Identify resource gaps and actively participate in upgrading infrastructure, including testing equipment.

Key Skills:

- Expertise in polymer and resin synthesis, including polyamine adducts, modified epoxy resins, polyamides, and PU pre-polymers, as well as formulations for adhesives, coatings, and mastics.

- Knowledge of scientific research principles, practices, and protocols, with the ability to develop scientific approaches and methodologies.

- Ability to design, organize, and coordinate scientific research projects and translate customer needs into actionable tasks and research programs.

- Proficiency in SAP, product development management software, phase gate process modules, and quality management system (QMS) modules.

- Familiarity with reading, understanding, and enforcing safety procedures.
