Responsibilities:
Administrative oversight:
- Oversee administrative functions such as scheduling, record-keeping, and facility management.
- Develop and implement efficient administrative procedures to streamline operations.
- Coordinate with various departments administratively to ensure cohesive functioning across the school.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the school, including academic programs, student services, facilities management, and administrative functions.
- Establish and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and accreditation requirements.
- Lead efforts to enhance operational efficiency, resource utilization, and organizational effectiveness.
Process creation & implementation:
- Lead the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all centers to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Work closely with center heads and key stakeholders to identify areas for process improvement and develop SOPs that streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Continuously review and update SOPs to reflect changes in business objectives, technology, or regulations, ensuring that all employees are trained and compliant with established procedures.
Financial Management:
- Monitor expenses and revenue streams and report the financial position to relevant stakeholders from time to time.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and policies.
- Develop and manage the school's budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and sustainability.
- Identify opportunities for revenue generation, cost containment, and resource allocation to support strategic priorities.
- Monitor financial performance, analyze key metrics, and make data-driven decisions to optimize financial outcomes.
Human Resources Management:
- Foster a positive work environment and provide support to staff as needed.
- Handle employee relations issues, evaluate subordinate staff, and implement disciplinary actions as necessary.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization's human resources function, including talent acquisition, performance management, employee relations, and professional development.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and innovation by promoting open communication, teamwork, and continuous learning among employees at all levels.
- Implement effective recruitment and retention strategies to attract top talent, build high-performing teams, and ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace environment.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to senior leadership team members, empowering them to effectively lead their teams and achieve organizational goals.
Capacity building programs:
- Conceptualize and develop different types of capacity building programs.
- Coordinate with faculty members, external guest lecturers from different sectors as well as candidates for smooth functioning of such programs.
- Oversee execution and delivery of such programs and impact assessment and suggest methods for improvements.
Stakeholder engagement:
- Find mechanisms, organize events and activities to engage different stakeholders such as industries, ministries, consultancies, media etc. for improving school's outreach and communications.
- Represent the school at different meetings and events.
- Community engagement in different forms.
- Oversee communications' team's functioning and suggest ways for improvement.
- Serve as the primary liaison between the school and external stakeholders, including government agencies, industry partners, alumni, donors, and the broader community.
- Cultivate strategic partnerships and collaborative initiatives to advance the school's mission and enhance its reputation and visibility.
- Represent the school at public events, conferences, and forums to promote its interests and advocate for its priorities.
Compliance and Regulation:
- Advise on ensuring compliance with local, state, and central regulations governing educational institutions.
- Stay informed about changes in education policies and regulations, and advise on implementing necessary adjustments.
Academic and Student Support:
- Keep track of all the academic programs run by the school and its entities.
- Liaise with students and faculty members.
- Maintain records relating to academic programs.
- Advise on and implement strategies for improvement.
- Keep track of student concerns for redressal and help in maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Technology Adoption:
Kotak School of sustainability will need to adopt various technology platforms with an objective to meet its goal of providing education & research opportunity in sustainability at a net zero emission infrastructure for bringing efficiency and effectiveness in its different processes. The School Operations Lead will be responsible for identifying and implementing technology platforms which will allow Kotak School of Sustainability to meet this goal.
Strengthening Brand Kotak School of Sustainability:
As the member of Senior leadership team of IITK DF, S/he will be representing Brand KSS. S/he will ensure that the image of the Institute and the school strengthens within and outside campus. associated with it. - Act as a liaison between school administration, staff, students, and external stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and fostering a cohesive community. associated with it. Responsibilities may change based on organizational needs. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, or related fields; Master& degree preferred.
Qualifications and experience: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, or related fields; Master's degree preferred.
Required Experience and other attributes:
- 12+ years' experience in education/corporate/industry administration.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in financial management.
- Proficiency in computer applications and commonly used software like MS Office and other platforms
Desirable:
- Knowledge of educational principles, practices, and regulations.
- Reporting: The hired person will directly report to the Professor-in-Charge of the Kotak School of Sustainability at IIT Kanpur.
- Nature of employment (contractual or permanent): Permanent
