Lead - Purchase - Manufacturing

JOB DESCRIPTION

- Developing and implementing purchasing strategies

- Establishes goals and objectives for purchasing department.

- Develop SOP and policies for the operation of procurement activities.

- Manage and lead team of buyers to meet purchase and supplier management activities.

- Implement processes with suppliers to improve on time delivery.

- Review POs and work with planning team to track ETA for open orders.

- Conduct quarterly supplier rating and work with supplier to improve supplier performance.

- Escalate supplier/product related issues with sourcing team to work on alternate suppliers/product.

- Experience in procurement of direct as well as indirect material for manufacturing industry

- Assisting buyers in day-to-day activities of purchasing and training new buyers

- Working with finance team and supplier to ensure timely payment of suppliers.

- Preparing monthly MIS for purchase function

- Helping internal stakeholders on material requirements (preferably R&D procurement)

- Focus on cost optimization by process improvements or by alternate vendor selection.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATION

- Bachelor's degree in engineering

- PGDM or MBA in material management is preferred.

- Effective communication (verbal/written), problem solving and negotiation skills.

- Presentable, must be proficient in MS office.

- Candidates having experience of team handling and handled purchasing of direct as well indirect items.

- Prior knowledge of SAP is preferred.

- Exposure to international suppliers.

- Specific exposure to electronic components

- OEM experience

- SAP should be mandatory.
