Qualification: Bachelor of Engineering in Civil
Experience: Minimum 10 - 15 years of experience in Planning and Procurement
Job Objective:
- To lead and manage the planning and procurement function to ensure timely availability of quality materials and service at optimum costs.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic:
- Provide inputs to develop the organization's planning and procurement strategy for materials in line with the business strategy
- Survey the environment to keep abreast of trends and best practices in material usage and management in the Real Estate industry, nationally and internationally
- Provide functional guidance to ensure standardization of purchase practices across the regions
Operational:
- Develop proactive procurement mechanisms for critical and scarce materials in coordination with the Engineering Department
- Identify sources for bulk purchase (national and international) of materials to leverage economies of scale and tax efficiencies
- Obtain approvals on Bill of Materials and ensure adherence to the same with respect to procurement of all materials
- Develop a materials delivery plan in close coordination with the Projects team to eliminate stock-outs, reduce inventory carrying costs and ensure timely delivery of material to the project sites
- Provide inputs to develop a framework for vendor evaluation and empanelment; Lead the vendor evaluation process and review vendor ratings periodically
- Drive effective relationship management with vendors to facilitate favourable contract terms, uninterrupted supply and availability of services at the time of crisis
- Work closely with the Finance Department to ensure timely availability of funds for payments to vendors as per the contracted terms.
- Continuously work on establishing favourable credit terms for Sattva
- Ensure provision of timely support to projects team on all procurement related matters
- Drive implementation of the vendor satisfaction survey to identify concerns & issues from the vendor's perspective
- Periodically update the global vendor database through continuous research and market scanning
- Develop / update Department SOPs
Financial:
- Provide inputs in formulation of departmental budget and ensure adherence to the same
- Monitor contracts for compliance with all commercial, legal and technical requirements, and control costs
- Monitor adherence to the Project budget and provide periodic updates to the Department Head on the same
People:
- Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within all aspects of team work
- Mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team's capabilities
- Undertake performance management for self and team
- Adhere to training calendar for self and team and mentor and coach subordinates to develop the team's capabilities
