Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Lead

We are seeking to shortlist high potential candidates for the stated role with a client organisation.

The client is a leading organization in its area of business.

Objective : To identify, evaluate, and lead the successful integration of mergers and acquisitions that support the company's strategic growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities :

Strategic Analysis & Planning :

- Work closely with senior leadership to establish M&A objectives that align with the company's long-term strategy.

- Lead the development and refinement of the M&A strategy, focusing on target identification, evaluation, and prioritization.

Deal Initiation :

- Proactively seek and identify potential M&A targets based on the company's strategic objectives.

- Build and maintain a robust network with industry experts, investment bankers, and other relevant stakeholders to remain informed of emerging opportunities.

- Initiate preliminary discussions with potential targets.

Due Diligence :

- Lead and manage a cross-functional team in conducting thorough due diligence on potential acquisitions.

- Evaluate the financial, operational, and strategic fit of potential acquisitions.

Negotiations & Deal Closure :

- Drive the negotiation process, working alongside legal and financial teams, ensuring the best interests of the company.

- Collaborate with the finance department to structure deals, ensuring favourable financial terms.

Stakeholder Communication :

- Maintain open lines of communication with internal and external stakeholders throughout the M&A process.

- Present M&A strategies, updates, and post-acquisition reports to the Board and other key stakeholders.

Compliance & Risk Management :

- Work closely with legal and compliance teams to ensure that all M&A activities adhere to regulatory and legal requirements.

- Identify and manage risks associated with M&A activities, implementing necessary mitigation strategies.

Qualifications & Experience:

- MBA (from a leading B- School)

- 7-8 years post qualification experience specifically in responsibilities for this role

Experience should include :

1. Evaluating opportunities for M&A.

2. Deal initiation, NBO, Term sheet / binding offer.

3. Business model, valuation to definite document execution and deal closing.

4. Active involvement and lead with third parties, investment banks, others as applicable for the above tasks

5. Entrepreneurial having good business initiative with experience in strategic financial analysis

6. Effective and efficient problem solving and analytical skills

7. Commercial and financial acumen and attention to detail.

8. Effective presentation skills.

9. Ability to conduct market, industry, and company research.

10. Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast- paced environment.
